Ning Fan didn't rush to head home but instead spent some time with Lan Kexin. The two continued walking down the street, with the car still a distance away.
"Ning Fan, will you be willing to keep pretending to be my boyfriend later on?"
Lan Kexin suddenly asked calmly. Her eyes glimmered with an indescribable emotion, but since her head was lowered, Ning Fan couldn't tell what she was truly thinking.
Upon hearing Lan Kexin's words, Ning Fan nodded, but in the next second, he shook his head. It was unclear whether he agreed or not.
"I mean, it's possible, but we can deceive them for now, not forever!"
Ning Fan sighed. Ultimately, it was still a well-intentioned lie. It could temporarily fool Lan Kexin's mom, but it wasn't a long-term solution, as flaws in the story would inevitably arise.
Though Lan Kexin could claim they had broken up later, even then she'd still face pressure to date quickly and get married. In the end, nothing would truly change.
