[TL/N: Read my new work - Anime Group Chat in a Doomsday World!]
-------
The world of 'Date A Live' is a typical modern society, but its technological level surpasses that of the main world. However, with advanced technology comes the catastrophe known as spirit.
The appearance of spirit is often accompanied by space quakes, which cause widespread destruction to nearby buildings. As a result, people view spirit with hostility. To combat this threat, the government established an organization known as AST (Anti-Spirit Team).
At this moment, a massive space quake erupted above Tengu City.
"Alert! Alert! A large-scale space quake has been detected above Tengu City. All citizens, please evacuate to designated shelters immediately. Repeat..."
As the broadcast echoed through the city, people scrambled to evacuate. This particular space quake was extraordinarily large, at least twice the usual magnitude. Panic spread quickly, but amidst the chaos, two figures remained unusually calm: Alexander and Kurumi, who had just arrived.
Rumble!
In the epicenter of the massive space quake, Alexander and Kurumi stood side by side as they descended into the world alongside the quake.
"Kurumi... you didn't mention that our arrival would trigger a space quake," Alexander said, frowning.
"Well… this might be my fault, but even so, one spirit alone shouldn't be able to cause a quake of this magnitude," Kurumi replied, confused. She had triggered space quakes before, but never on this scale.
"Forget it, I'll handle it," Alexander said.
He summoned the Ea Sword, its gleaming edge radiating power. With a swift motion, the space quake dissipated, and peace returned to Tengu City.
"It's done. Let's move on," Alexander said, ready to pull Kurumi away.
However, someone wasn't about to let them leave so easily. From the distance, small black dots approached rapidly.
Seeing the approaching figures, Alexander frowned. He had almost forgotten—this world has two organizations that respond to space quakes:
Ratatoskr, dedicated to saving spirits. AST, specialized in eliminating spirits.
Judging by their current formation, it was undoubtedly AST. Alexander glanced at Kurumi, a mischievous grin on his face. "Haha, looks like you're in trouble."
Kurumi rolled her eyes. "What do you mean, 'I'm in trouble'? Don't tell me you're planning to run off and leave me here alone!"
"Of course not," Alexander said. He knew AST wasn't strong enough to pose a real threat to Kurumi.
Kurumi knew it too. However, things didn't unfold quite as Alexander expected.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Fully armed AST operatives appeared, their uniforms glinting in the light. At their forefront stood Kusakabe Ryouko, the AST captain. She glared at Alexander and Kurumi and issued a command to her team.
"Prepare yourself! Two spirits have appeared. One is the infamous 'Nightmare,' and the other is a new entity. Everyone, prepare to eliminate them!"
"Wait! Me, a spirit? Since when am I a spirit?" Alexander protested.
Kurumi couldn't help but laugh. "Serves you right," she said, her expression brimming with amusement.
Alexander shot her a glare. "What are you laughing at? But damn, karma's real."
Alexander turned to address the AST operatives. "Listen, I'm not a spirit. I'm human!"
"Human?" Kusakabe Ryouko sneered. "You triggered a space quake of this magnitude, and you expect us to believe you're human?"
Alexander sighed. "Of course, I show up with a space quake, and now I'm the bad guy. Great."
"Everyone, prepare to attack!" Kusakabe Ryouko shouted.
In an instant, the AST members charged forward, their weapons aimed at Alexander.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Blue and white laser beams shot toward Alexander. He remained calm, though, unshaken by the onslaught.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a throne materialized in front of Alexander, its majestic aura halting all attacks. The lasers dissipated harmlessly against its barrier.
The throne emanated immense power, signaling the presence of an angel: Throne of Annihilation.
