Chapter 22 - Chapter 18 - Victory and Return

The Leviathan easily dodged my attack while countering with a powerful swipe of its tail, knocking me back. "If I fight with brute force like the Phoenix, I'm dead... so," my body slowly mutated, changing my appearance slightly and the color of my scales to black and red. "I'll use strategy to win."

"Just because you're uglier doesn't mean the outcome will be different," it sneered with a sadistic grin on its monstrous face. "You're going to die." In an instant, it cast the same magic circle again and spewed out demonic water. "Sorry, but the same attack doesn't work on me twice." Inches from the demonic water touching me, I disappeared and bit down hard on one of the Leviathan's fins.

"Timing!" A powerful swipe of its tail was all it took to send me rolling into the ocean again. "Damn, the rayfish's speed was so high I miscalculated, but the next one will definitely be your neck." When I stabilized, I could see red lines emerging from its fin, staining the blue ocean.

"At least it wasn't in vain." A sneer appeared on my face, now even more hideous than usual, earning me an angry glare from the Leviathan. "You damn piece of trash, I'll crush you until nothing remains but ground meat."

Its enormous body became long and hideous, like that of a 100-meter anaconda, as it charged toward me. "Crush me if you can." With an amused grin, I charged toward it as well.

A loud boom shook the entire ocean as our heads collided, causing me to lose consciousness for a second. "Bad idea." I quickly reverted to my sea monster form and bit down hard on the Leviathan's body. "Got you, you damn piece of trash." Her long body tried to wrap around me, but in an instant, I disappeared and appeared behind her, biting her again.

"It's not going to be that simple." Just as she was about to mutate back into the rayfish, her enormous body caught my hind fin. "I had to open my fucking mouth." Before I could think any further, I felt her body wrap around mine like an anaconda around its prey.

"I'll crush you until your eyes pop out of your skull." With those words, she began to squeeze with tremendous force. "I... don't... believe it." Several spines grew all over my body; barely penetrating the Leviathan's body, but in such a way that the more I pressed against her body, the more my spines penetrated her body.

"Is this your last defense? Pathetic, just like it would be on a disgusting human." Her pressure didn't stop, and she even continued squeezing, ignoring the damage to her body. "Shit, if she keeps this up, my eyes will really pop out."

As my body was crushed, I tried to remember some animal ability that might help me escape. "Shit, I should have watched more Animal Planet," I felt my bone plates and scales shatter as my organs began to be crushed and my bones were about to break.

"That's it, turtles!" I quickly began creating a shell, not just for my back, but for my entire body, just like a crab. "Phew, this should do the trick." Returning to my human form, I fell into the center of the shell, shaped like a sea monster.

"While I'd like to stay here, I doubt I'll hold, so I'd better get out." Closing my eyes, I focused, my leg muscles tightening, and I ran up the shell toward the head with speed impossible for my human form. "Thanks, Amara, for giving me the idea of using animal abilities even in my human form."

Getting closer to the head, I stretched my arm, and the muscles flexed several times. "Strength, speed, agility—all kinds of abilities in the human body are simply incredible." Raising my fist, I smashed one of the shell's teeth, causing a massive amount of water to seep inside, but before it could push me away, I took the form of a salmon and swam against the current, returning to the ocean.

"I guess it can't sense my presence," I watched as the Leviathan continued to crush my "body" with full force, causing the shell to begin to crack. "Turn into ground meat, you filthy human!"

¡Krrrash!

"What the fuck?!" The Leviathan stared dazedly at the pile of fragments that looked like broken bones around her, instead of blood and destroyed flesh. "I told you next time it would be your neck." Before she could react, I charged at her, biting into her neck as I dragged her through the sea.

"Fucking trash!" With a loud scream, she caused a ripple in the ocean that destroyed several of my scales and made me flinch. "Just with one scream: shit, how strong is this bitch?"

The entire ocean, except for the one around the Leviathan, began to act strangely, growing more violent. "I'll stop playing games now," with that, thousands of magic circles discovered.

I silently observed all the magic circles. "I'm screwed." Thousands of torrents of demonic water in different directions were directed at me.

"Or so it's supposed to be," with a smirk, I charged at her, as thousands of attacks were about to collide with me. "Stupid animal," all the attacks collided against my body, destroying my scales, my bony plates, and maybe some bones.

"Not yet, closer... While the tardigrade's resilience is surprising, with the first ten I'd already be dying." Enduring the pain in my body, I continued charging forward. "I can use the lightning fish's speed, but I can't control it yet, and I only have one chance; I'll get as close as possible so I don't miss," I moved forward and kept moving, even though one of his attacks had pierced my back fin.

"Now!" As I approached within a certain distance, I didn't hesitate and used the speed of a lightning fish, for the closer I got, the smaller my appearance became. "What the hell!" His gaze fell on his belly, which had been stabbed by a long-nose fish.

"I guess I won this battle." With a flick of his tail, he tried to push me away, creating a strong current, but I struggled not to move. "I won't give up that easily; The longer I'm inside you, the better my chances of winning." No matter how much she moved, swam, threw bursts of water, or manipulated the ocean, I refused to leave her.

"Let meeee go!!!" A strong ripple shook the entire ocean. "I refuse to let you go," but it wasn't enough, and my sword-shaped nose broke, sending me rolling through the ocean as the ripple broke several bones in my fishy body.

"Shit, but I think that's enough." My small fishy body reverted to the sea monster form, but this time it was severely damaged.

"Filthy human, how dare you? I'll erase you from existence!!" Now it wasn't just miles of magic circles, but they reached up to a million, as my entire vision was occupied by magic circles, and this time they weren't torrents of demonic water, but demonic water dragons.

"Shit, I have to dodge at least a few." The moment I activated Lightning Fish Speed, my body froze, or rather, my blood. "What the fuck!" My eyes fixed on the Leviathan. "You won't escape this time," its eyes glowed blood red. "I can manipulate blood too, you human scum."

I silently watched the nearly million attacks charging toward me. "If I come back, I swear I'll marry Amara and Aiala."

Bang!!!!

"It was fun, but it's about time we wipe out the angels above and flood the world." The moment he turned to leave, he stopped, feeling a slight disturbance in his ocean. "Is he still alive?" I turned around and stared at the disappearing bubbles, revealing my body, shaped like a sea monster, but shattered. I only had my right fin and eye, my jaw was shattered, and several holes were leaking horrible streams of blood.

"Forget it, he's already dead." He barely turned around and ripped off one of his fins using an electric shock. "On death's door, but alive," I could barely smile with my broken jaw.

"I guess you guys are like cockroaches, you're annoying." His tone was cold. "He didn't even show any emotion when his fin was ripped off, what a fucking monster." As I lost more blood, my vision became increasingly blurry.

"If I can't kill you with magic, I'll eat you." After that, he lunged at me with his mouth open. "Is this the end?" Just as he was about to bite me, his attack missed and he sped off. "What?"

"It's finally working." Before she could process her failed attack, I bit her body until she bled. "You bastard, let me go!" I tried to move away, but her body wasn't as strong anymore; it was weaker and slower now.

"What the fuck is going on?" Taking advantage of her confusion, I took the opportunity to bite harder and harder, even shocking her body with millions of volts.

"Ahhhhhhhhh!!!" Her scream was so loud it shook the ocean, and in a risky move, she unleashed a demonic water dragon that destroyed a part of her body and pierced mine, causing me to release her.

"What the fuck did you do to me?" she asked, her gaze beginning to blur. "Obviously poison. I've been poisoning you from the start; after all, poison will always be lethal to any species."

"Tks, don't ever expect me to have to use the prototype of that crap I stole from the Phoenix." As if thinking I'd never be able to move my body, a magic circle appeared, and a small vial appeared floating. "You won't!!!" Burning my muscles and using the speed of a lightning fish, I launched myself forward, tearing off a piece of her flesh along with the small vial.

"Son of a bitch!!!!" My shattered body began to rapidly regenerate until it was back to normal, except for the missing limbs and a sensation that seemed to burn inside me. "I hope Amara and Aiala aren't mad at me for arriving without an eye and an arm." My gaze returned to the Leviathan, its body covered in wounds and a look of deep hatred.

"It's time to put an end to this." With that, I activated the electricity and charged toward it, biting into its body as I pulled it deeper and injected more electricity to burn it from the inside out. "Let me go, you bastard!" She tried to fight back, but it was useless, so she began to use uncontrolled demonic water attacks, damaging me as much as herself.

"Brace for impact, you disgusting monster." The deeper I sank, the stronger the water pressure became, and the darker it became. "This is going to hurt."

Boom!

When we reached the deepest part of the sea, the Leviathan's body slammed into the seabed with extreme force, causing it to rupture and plunge even deeper, where we could barely see and the pressure was brutal.

"I swear I'll kill you," he barely managed to say as his body succumbed to the various poisons injected into his body, the more uncontrolled magical attacks, the blood loss, and the enormous amount of electricity injected directly into his body. "I hope I can go back," closing my eyes, I opened them bravely as I shit again, my body empowered by electricity as I dragged the Leviathan to the depths, my body being crushed by the pressure.

"I can't take it anymore." The strength completely left my body, loosening the grip of my jaw on the Leviathan's neck, releasing it, causing the still-living Leviathan's body to plummet to the bottom as my body was crushed by the pressure. "This will be your death; water pressure doesn't affect me, idiot." A sadistic, superior smile appeared on his face.

"I noticed," I said as a blue light ignited from the tip of my tail and surged upward, igniting the plates on my back with a clang. "This is my strongest attack; I hope you enjoy it, my mighty one."

My mouth opened wide, and a massive burst of electricity shot out, surrounding a powerful flare that evaporated the water. "Atomic Breath," the attack lit up the entire place as I charged toward the wounded Leviathan. "You damn piece of shit!!!" was the last thing I heard before my attack swallowed it whole.

Explosion!!!

The Leviathan's body was riddled with wounds, burns, bites, and a gaping hole in its body. "Just in case," I approached, ignoring the even stronger pressure and opening my mouth. I powered through three mutations with the force of my jaw, ripped off its head, and swallowed it. "How I need Rimurus's ability, gluttony; if I had it, I'd already have the fire of the Phoenix and the water of the Leviathan." Biting the neck of the Leviathan corpse, I began to drag it back to the surface.

...

The further I moved from the seabed, the water pressure decreased drastically, and my body felt lighter. "It seems they're still going." The sound of the battle above grew louder and louder as I rose.

¡FUUUOOSH!

When I poked my head out of the ocean, all the paranormal creatures stopped their fight and turned their gazes toward me. "Levi, you did it!" A joyful shout caught my attention, causing me to shake my head. I watched the crimson-haired Lord approach with a huge, joyful smile. It was Runeas. "Wait... you're not Levi," she stopped dead in her tracks as her joyful expression was replaced by despair, fear, and fury. "Here's your Levi!" With an amused grin, she tossed the Leviathan's body into the air and caught it again in my jaw, eating its corpse as Runeas screamed as blood stained the ocean red.

"Damn beast, how dare you eat Leviathan-sama!!!"

"Filthy monster, feel the fury of the demons!!"

"Kill him!!!"

Thousands of demons of different classes stopped their current fight and flew toward me, their magic circles active, swords, and spears emanating energy from their bodies, all of them saying, "It's rude to interrupt someone while they're eating, scum." Swallowing the last piece of the Leviathan's corpse, I cast my Atomic Breath again, which disintegrated most of the demons.

"Damn, bastard, I swear I'll kill you." A strange energy began to release Runes around his entire body, his face distorted with fury. "Try it. Two of your same rank already tried; one ended up deformed by the poison, and another is still alive, though I think with trauma." An amused smile appeared on my face as hundreds of magic circles appeared, one of them enormous. "Wow, I guess his aptitude with magic is good."

Before he could attack, a small magic circle appeared near his ear, like an intercom. "But, but, that bastard killed Levi!" he yelled into his magic intercom, finally gritting his teeth as the magic circles disappeared. "If I see you again, consider yourself dead," with a cold tone and gaze, he issued his threat as a magic circle appeared at his feet.

"Don't even think you'll escape." My powerful tail fin transformed into an elongated one with a blade as I charged toward Runeas's chest and pierced his heart. "Evil, you damn bastard," the last remaining demons managed to stop my tail, using their bodies as a meat shield as the blade barely touched Runeas's body. "Enjoy your life, because if we meet again, you're dead." His tone reflected pure hatred and murderous intent as he disappeared into the magic circle. "Shit, more demons are escaping me."

Averting my gaze and throwing the corpses lodged in my tail against the destroyed cliff, I focused my gaze on the fallen. "Honestly, I'm mentally tired, not to mention my missing limbs." Before my eyes, all the fallen tightened their grip on their weapons as they turned their heads to the pile of bodies crushed by the demons' impact on the destroyed cliff.

"We must retreat; not even Kokabiel-sama is here to help us." I watched silently as the army of fallen retreated in circles, leaving only the angels. "I don't see Gabriel... I suppose if it weren't for my presence, this place would have been the graveyard of angels and those fallen by the Leviathan." Turning my back, I sank into the ocean, disappearing from the angels' sight.

FUUUOOSH!

Leaping out of the ocean with a single leap, I twisted my body vigorously, shedding all the excess water around me before returning to my griffin form and taking to the skies again as I flew away from the battlefield. "Ugh, I don't want to go back," I muttered with half-heartedness and concern. "Once Amara and Aiala notice my missing limbs, they'll scold me like hell." My flight slowed, with no desire to continue flying.

...

I was lying on the ground with Amara and Aiala crying their eyes out as they hugged me tightly. What happened? Upon arriving, I entered our house, where both sisters were cooking—or, well, if you could call cooking food these days. They barely turned around and stopped what they were doing when they saw my missing eye and arm. They rushed toward me without holding back, pulling me back to the scene.

"Hey, girls, I'm fine, don't worry," I said, but when I tried to express myself, my hand was grabbed by both of them, using it as a pillow as I felt my skin dampen. "Now then," giving up, I used my trapped hand to stroke their heads until they calmed down.

...

"I broke my promise, fine, but don't punish my cheeks," I said as my cheeks were ripped apart by Amara and Aiala with a pout. "It doesn't matter, they're too cute; I can regenerate other cheeks later."

"Idiot, you said you'd come back with minor injuries, but you came back without an eye and an arm!" Amara tightened her grip on my cheek. "Didn't I tell you it pained us to see you hurt? Do you like seeing us cry?!" Aiala pulled my cheek tighter. "One will turn my cheek into an omelet, and the other will turn it into stretched gum."

"Don't worry, besides, there's nothing wrong with that. I can regenerate them as many times as I want. It's not like I'll be without those limbs forever." Without saying a word, they both left my cheeks and, looking at each other, nodded. "If you don't understand with words, we'll make you understand with actions."x2 After that, they both grabbed their arms and began scratching their soft skin, which began to bleed slightly. "Stop! What are you supposed to do?!" I stopped their hands as quickly as I could, looking at them with concern.

"What's wrong with it?"

"We're going to heal anyway, so what does it matter if we get hurt?"

"Even if they heal, I don't like seeing them hurt!" At that moment, I froze before Amara and Aiala's direct gazes as I sat on the floor with a guilty look. "Now do you understand?" Amara grabbed my cheek again, but this time she caressed it. "Even if you can heal, it's painful to see you hurt." Aiala mimicked her sister's action by caressing my other cheek.

"I'm sorry," resigned, I dropped my face into her palms. "We know you go out every day to look for a woman, but is that woman so important that you would risk yourself so much?" At Amara's question, both twins lowered their gaze, making it impossible for me to see their expressions, but still high enough to see my answer.

At that, I fell silent. "Yes, she is someone important." At that moment, I could see how her hands clenched into fists while trembling slightly. "But not more important than you." They both stopped trembling and looked up, revealing their beautiful, watery eyes.

"The truth is, I'm not looking for that woman because I like her or love her; I'm looking for her because she's the only one who can help me return home, where my family is." Both of their eyes widened as their bodies trembled violently. "Go back? So, then," I could barely understand what Aiala was saying, thanks to her trembling body and tearful eyes. "Are you going to leave us?" Amara asked bluntly, her body still trembling, maintaining her responsible older sister persona, but her tearful eyes weren't easy to hide.

"Don't be silly," I stroked each of their heads and then placed a kiss on each of their cheeks. "I want you to come with me. I want you to know my home, my family, my time. Things you never thought possible exist in my world." I earned surprised looks from both twins at this.

"Tell us more. We want to know more about you."x2 With a smile, I grew a tail and began drawing the technology of the modern world. With my one hand, I expressed the details, to the great excitement and interest of both sisters, like cute, curious bunnies.

...

"So, would you like to come with me to my time?" I finished telling them about modern technology. After my question, they both nodded excitedly. "Of course, we'd love to go with you!"x2 Their smiles were so bright they easily made the Phoenix's flames look ridiculous. "I wonder how Mom will react when she sees that I came home with two wives." A nostalgic smile appeared on my face as I remembered my family, but it disappeared when I saw the smiling twins.

"Amara, Aiala, I don't know if I should ask, but... where are your parents?" At my question, both sisters' smiles disappeared in an instant, while their bright eyes darkened. "Ah, sorry, don't answer if you don't want to." The two sisters looked at each other and, after a few seconds, nodded.

"Okay, we'll tell you what happened to our parents."

"After all, you already told us about your origins; it's our turn."

Inhaling deeply, they both braced themselves in sync and looked into my eyes. "We didn't know our mother... After our mother brought us into this world, she passed away."

"Also, thanks to our different hair and eyes, rumors began that we were cursed and had to be killed before we could bring destruction to the village."

"Our father had to beg and plead on his knees to the entire village to let us live."

"After much begging and pleading, the village agreed to let us live, but the rumors didn't go away, causing everyone in the village to keep their distance and hate us."

"At that time, he was the only pillar of our lives, but then he fell ill, causing the rumors to increase even more and treat us worse than before."

"A month after that, we thought maybe if we left the village, Father would live better."

"But he stopped us and told us the only reason he was still alive was because of us, causing us to stay in his arms crying like little girls."

"After almost a year of illness, our father managed to recover, but..." Aiala stopped, anger and sadness distorting her beautiful face. "That Fallen One, as you call them, appeared and forced the village to hand over whatever he asked for, and after that failed, he killed half the villagers... including Father."

Even Amara's expression twisted with hatred as she clenched her fists. "They had it rough," I stroked their heads and placed them in my lap. "They've been through so much, endured so much, so I'll see to it that, from now on, they're happy. We'll live together until death do us part—old age, that is." Their faces went from anger to tranquility as they relaxed in my lap. "I'll never let anyone harm them; I promise that the suffering they endured in the past will be forgotten by the happiness of the future."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Here's another chapter; honestly, this chapter was supposed to be finished on Wednesday or Tuesday, but my boss changed my schedule and to top it all off, the laptop I was using to translate and spell check was snatched, not stolen, snatched, which made me take longer to write, not to mention that I got sick. Anyways, the next chapter is the end of the first volume. I'm going to write the prologue for the second volume just on a whim and I'll continue with another fanfic, but before that, I'll do a poll in the next two chapters to see if you want Grayfia to be part of the harem, because after chapter one of the second volume there will be no chance of including her, because I'll be skipping thousands of years and also because she is canonically the wife of Rias's brother. With that said, see you in the next chapter. Take care

P.S: I'll leave my PayPal account in the next chapter, if you want me to continue writing volume two. After all, money is always a treat; the goal won't be $10 to $20, it'll only be $3 to $5. No to greed, though I doubt I'll raise even a dollar with this fanfic. The only downside would be that I'd have to focus on two fanfics.
