Chapter 78 - 78: My Brother.

"Ladies and gentlemen! After many incredible fights, fantasy takedowns, and the constant destruction of the arena, not to mention the bonds forged only during combat, we have finally reached this moment.

The final fight! The climax of the night and this event has finally arrived! On one side of the arena is the ever-smiling, tail-wagging young Son Goku.

On the other side is a beautiful young lady named Bulma Brief! She always flaunts her glamour and power in front of everyone." The presenter took great pains in his dialogue, giving his all to set the mood for this final fight.

He wasn't the only one eager to see how this showdown would end. Whis watched the Saiyan and the 'Terran' with curiosity. He didn't strain to think about who would win; he wanted to enjoy the spectacle the mortals would present.

Muten Roshi was expectant. Though he knew about the Goku and Bulma showdowns, anything could happen in a tournament with these rules. Power wasn't everything here, which made the showdown even more interesting for the old man.

The fighters? Unlike the spectators, they were in high spirits, free of the tension that came with the finals. Goku got quite close to Bulma, jumping up and down.

"Buuuuulma! We made it to the finals! We made it to the finals!" he shouted, full of his trademark vibrant energy.

"Yeah, I know. Shouldn't you go to your side of the arena?" Bulma asked, pointing off into the distance.

"Okay! I wish you luck," Goku said, waving goodbye as if he weren't the one who would be fighting her next.

Bulma resisted the urge to slap her face, but a smile broke out on her. Goku always found a way to make her happy, even though that seemed to be his normal attitude.

Even though he didn't appear to be injured, the boy had a pure soul. Of course, he was also smarter and more cunning. Bulma felt he was more 'dangerous' than the original because he was much more aware of his surroundings.

His education about knowledge and how the world worked gave him common sense. He would never mistake a penis for a tail or think that women have these 'tails'.

However, his personality was more childlike than that of a typical teenager, probably because he lived a quiet life without experiencing the brutality of Saiyan training. Unlike Vegeta's childhood, Goku's life could be considered paradise.

Considering that the development of this species began much later than that of Terrans, Goku's childhood was particularly long.

Bulma was already accustomed to Goku's constant antics because they were the literal nonsense of a small child. When he took his place, the atmosphere between them changed.

"Let the fight begin!" shouted Muten Roshi, who did the honors in the last fight either because he was a former champion or because he was technically the 'Grandmaster' of the two fighters in the arena.

With the great sound of the gong, neither Bulma nor Goku faced the other directly but started walking in a circle, sizing each other up. They knew each other quite well; after all, they had grown up together and trained under the same master.

They had fought each other many times. Until recently, Bulma was technically more powerful than Goku. However, participating in this tournament allowed the young Saiyan to discover his strength, learn from what he saw, and be inspired to improve.

This time, he was unusually patient, focusing all his attention on Bulma and ignoring the outside world. For Goku, the clamor of onlookers and the vague stares he felt on him were no longer there; he focused entirely on his older sister.

Despite her relaxed posture, he noticed that Bulma was just as alert as he was, watching him closely. The blue-haired girl was not confident; her training and understanding prevented her from being so.

With enough effort, anyone could overcome their limits, no matter how unlikely it may seem. Bulma never believed that she could ignore those weaker than her just because of her strength. Otherwise, her end would be similar to those guys who were killed by people weaker than them because they became overconfident.

She wouldn't be so stupid! She thought of a way to control the fight. Knowing Goku, he would surely accept her proposal.

"Hey, Goku, how about we start slow? First, a purely physical confrontation, and then gradually building up to energy attacks?" Bulma asked, causing Goku's eyes to glow brightly.

"Good! I'd like to do that," Goku agreed without hesitation. Why would he refuse? He knew an important fight had to be over quickly, but he liked slow fights!

They both continued to evaluate each other, looking for a clearer opening to start the confrontation. After a minute passed without finding one, they realized it was pointless.

They both felt it was impossible to find an opportunity to attack, so they simultaneously decided to fight each other in melee combat as they had agreed. Their movements were too fast for the untrained eye to follow.

Neither unleashed their aura nor used Ki attacks; they only strengthened their bodies as they began their fight. Goku attacked first, delivering a right to Bulma's abdomen. However, the blue-haired girl managed to hold her fist up in time.

Contact between them caused an outburst. Instead of staying that way, they quickly moved on to other attacks. The Saiyan took advantage of his proximity to Bulma to jump and kick her body. She slid backwards as they parted.

However, a lock of her blue hair wrapped around his arm. With a strong tug, he was lifted and whipped several times against the arena. Goku then used his free hand to cut the hair holding him back.

Bulma was close enough at this point, though, and she kneed Goku in the face, sending him flying. She jumped up, spinning and kicking into the air. She looked to send the young Saiyan flying into the sand again.

Goku stretched out his tail to defend himself. It slammed into Bulma's leg, allowing the young man to move far enough away. He spun steadily in the air before landing on his feet.

His tail was sore, but he smiled, sensing that this melee was more fun than simply throwing large amounts of energy.

He considered himself skilled and physically strong. How could he lose? He shook his shoulders and began making small jumps in place, waiting patiently.

Bulma lunged at him. Goku protected himself from her punch with his arm before responding in kind. Thus began a brief exchange of fists and defense. It ended with Bulma receiving a sudden head-butt to the hand, which caused her pain.

Taking advantage of her brief distraction, Goku jumped up and kicked Bulma's chest several times with his short, powerful legs. Then, he rotated his body in the air and kicked the girl's cheek. She was sent flying several meters away.

Bulma managed to put her feet on the ground, avoiding a hard fall. The girl touched her lip where she felt some of her blood. Goku's attack was no small thing; he had managed to hurt her despite her having enhanced her body with energy.

This meant that Goku had used a lot of power in his last strike. Though she was uncomfortable with the prospect of a scar ruining her beautiful appearance, she smiled.

She could heal later and correct any imperfections with one of her many products. What mattered now was taking the fight further. She thundered her neck before speaking.

"Little brother, it seems I must teach you a stern lesson." From Bulma's body, a faint purple aura erupted. Instead of bursting forth as usual, however, it clung to her skin, barely leaving a trace of its presence.

Without the faint purple flashes, no one would have noticed that she had coated her skin with ki. Martial artists usually do this both internally and externally.

During the previous fight between her and Goku, however, they only strengthened her body from the inside. Bulma had taken the next step, so the Saiyan inevitably had to play along.

However, before Goku could respond, a fist appeared in front of him and struck his abdomen mercilessly, causing a shockwave that shook the entire arena. His body even separated slightly from the ground before Bulma's figure became clearer.

The blue-haired woman began rapidly punching Goku's small body. Her control of the force kept him at a considerable height as she dropped a flurry of powerful punches that sounded like the steady beat of a drum.

Returning the favor, Bulma finished her combo with a kick to Goku's neck, sending him upward. Soon, her figure materialized in the air, the Saiyan, her hands clasped together, ready to crush his back.

The resulting blow didn't send the boy directly to the ground. Instead, it sent him flying to the side, where Bulma reappeared and kicked him in another direction. She showed off her figure again as she did so.

She played with Goku's body as if it were a volleyball, sending him back and forth with powerful attacks that shook the stadium. Finally, she sent him crashing into the ground, creating a crater and raising a lot of dust and small debris.

A burst of crimson aura erupted from the crater, causing Bulma to squint. Goku emerged bruised but smiling as he absorbed the energy, finally following Bulma's example.

Without saying much, Goku rested his hands on the ground. Strangely, his posture was reminiscent of how primates usually stand.

With a bestial growl, Goku lunged at Bulma as if she were a wild animal. However, the girl didn't trust this, sensing that Goku wouldn't let himself be carried away like that; it was some sort of strategy.

Of course he did! If there was one thing Goku excelled at, it was combat; he was a martial arts and fighting genius. Despite mimicking a primate, his moves were methodical, though increasingly bizarre and shameless. For example, he tried to kick Bulma in the crotch and bite her leg when she was distracted.

It was a perfect blend of control and savagery, order and chaos. It was a strange reminder of the basics of martial arts: emulation. Goku wasn't just emulating a mere ape; he was emulating an Ozaru.

He displayed his understanding of martial arts and the sub-styles he could unleash. His fists were heavy, his kicks were powerful, and his tail participated in punching exchanges more than one might expect.

However, Bulma quickly adapted to Goku's strange approach, employing her newfound fighting style. Thus, the fight between the siblings reached its hottest point.

Their constant clashes shattered the arena, but they didn't mind because they had begun to fly as they fought. They increased the intensity of their blows and energy use until the first flash of Ki appeared.

Goku made his energy burn, turning it into a huge fist of ki that covered his arm. He hit Bulma's body with surprising force, making her retreat.

Then, he pointed his palm toward his older sister. The interaction of his ki with the air caused a shockwave that pushed her back against a large piece of debris on the arena floor.

When Bulma fell to the ground, she stomped it so hard that it cracked. Then, she flew upward, leaving a purple aura in her wake. She struck Goku with her elbow, and when he fought back, a burst of energy followed the contact, pushing the Saiyan back.

"So, Ki techniques?" Bulma asked, showing her index finger and generating a small marble of purple energy that seemed quite hot.

"Of course!" Goku exclaimed, pointing his tail at Bulma. There was a Ki sphere at the tip of his tail.

They were about to decide the final of the tournament!
