After a busy afternoon, in the evening, Zhang Yang and his teammates went to the New Orleans arena to watch the rookie challenge and cheer for Millsap and Rondo.
Yao Ming also went, together with Zhang Yang, to be interviewed with Yi Jianlian.
In his rookie season so far, Yi Jianlian has played 46 games, averaging 11.5 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 0.5 steals, and 1 block per game. In early January, his average points per game once reached 12 points, but during the midway season, due to fatigue and injury, it dropped again. However, his average of 11+6 is enough to be selected for the rookie team.
There are currently only three players from the 2007 class averaging double digits: Durant, Al Thornton, Yi Jianlian.
