When Kiara and Maddy landed in Mumbai they decided to take a day off.
" We are married", said Maddy.
" Is it strange", she asked.
" Hmmm but I am okay with it if you are", said Maddy.
He loved her but he would never force her.
" I was furious when Kenny got married without me ", she said. " I did the same".
Maddy shrugged.
" She'll understand ", he said. " We can throw a party . Act like a lovey dovey couple".
He winked at her.
" You look more like a pervert than a man in love", she hit him playfully. " What about your parents"?
" What about them", asked Maddy a bit on the edge now.
Kiara sensed it. She said,
" Will they really buy our lovey dovey story"?
Maddy smirked.
" I am an expert in selling stories wifey. It's my profession", he said.
" You need to be slapped on regular basis. Humble are we", she asked.
Maddy laughed.
" Let me treat you to a beautiful day", he said.
She agreed. The last few days were really heavy.
They enjoyed a city tour. On beaches and boat rides.
Kiara bought a pair of walkie talkie.
" To keep in touch. The signal catches from 500 metres", she said. " In case of a network jam".
" Good", he said.
They continued the journey.
After lunch Kiara slept as she was tired.
Maddy called Raj.
" Yes Maddy", he answered on the first ring.
" I got hitched. Punditji ordered us", he confessed.
There was a silence.
Then Kenny's voice came...
" I am so happy for you", she said. " How in the world you made Kiara agree to it"?
" Punditji ", said Maddy. " He has left this world".
" Ohhh"..
He could hear Kenny sobbing.
" Maddy", said Raj.
" He wants all of us married. He said to hurry. Time is precious. We are on our own Raj. He has done his last duty", he said.
" When are you coming back", asked Raj.
" Tomorrow. We took a day off", he said.
" Okay".
When Kiara woke up Maddy told her Kenny is very happy for them.
" She thinks you found true love", he smirked.
" Do you really want me to hit you on our honeymoon ", she raised a brow.
He raised his hands in surrender.
After a quiet evening at beach they sipped the juice.
Then went shopping.
Maddy got her a gold chain and ring.
" Can I tell you something ", he asked.
" Don't get angry".
" What did you do", she asked.
" I want to work out this marriage. If I can be happy at all its with you", he looked nervous.
" Maddy I.. I am happy with you too. You are my first boyfriend ", she hesitated. " Umm husband".
" It feels wierd", said Maddy. " But promise me we will work it out".
" I do", she said.
And she saw a rare shy smile on his face instead of his usual smirk.
And fell in love with that smile.
As they were strolling in market suddenly they saw a bird seller.
Maddy suddenly got excited. But Kiara was sure he wished to annoy her.
" They should not be in cage", she argued.
" I don't have money to release all of them", he said. " But we can buy a pair".
" You are not serious ", she said indignantly.
" Ohh be a sport. At least we can free two of them", he said. " Let's see doves, pigeons, parrots, spartows.. "
Kiara was fuming.
She could have hit him so she looked at one of the cage.
"Love birds", she exclaimed.
" Yeah they find each other however far they are away", said the seller.
" I don't think so", she said.
" Ohh we can try", said Maddy.
" Not until you buy them", said the seller.
" They speak human language too".
" He is fooling us", said Kiara.
" Men become fools in love", said Maddy making a puppy face.
" I swear I will hit you", she said.
To her dismay Maddy bought the birds.
" Even if they can't find each other they will sing lovely songs", he said. " Hello lovey dovey ".
The birds ignored him.
" I will search you from hell", Kiara warned the bird seller. " And take back every penny if they don't behave as you are saying ".
" Leave the poor man", said Maddy. " Run for your life", he said to him.
But the bird seller was unfazed.
" I assure you madam these bids will keep you both in touch with each other", he spoke in a cryptic tone. " And you need them. They will prove their worth".
Then he mysteriously disappeared in crowd.
They gaped after him.
They ended the day with a quiet dinner and in each other's arms.
Next day
A grand royal welcome greeted the newly weds.
Alok, Gaurav, Bhanu and Laxmi were also present.
Laxmi cried freely. She was the most happy person.
" I am so happy ", she said.
" You did fine for yourself. She is a nice girl", said Alok.
" You girls don't deem me fit to be present at your weddings ", sulked Gaurav.
" We will throw a grand reception both of us just for you", said Kiara.
" At least I like him better than Raj", said Gaurav patting Maddy's back. " You'll live", he declared.
Maddy chuckled.
" Aaawww such cute birds", mused Shai looking at love birds. " Hello".
The birds simply turned their backs.
" They have a lot of attitude", scoffed Kiara.
" They kept ignoring me throughout the journey ".
" You called them dumb", argued Maddy.
" They are called Lovey Dovey", he said excitedly to other girls.
" Aaawwww", said Grace.
" Seriously dude", Solly made a face.
Rahul and Rakesh laughed heartily looking at the two birds. They refused to talk with proudly raising their necks here and there.
" You got duped", she said to Maddy. " They are mute and useless", she sneered at them.
The female bird sneered back and the men laughed again.
" They sure are better than that hideous parrot your father brought at costume party ", said Rahul.
" Yeah dude my man", said Maddy. " The f*cker almost tore off my head".
" We enjoyed that a lot", smirked Myra.
" I did too", winked Parry. " Still have my costume ", he said.
" Shameless", said Grace shaking her head.
Kiara whispered to Rakesh.,
" I hope you are fine. I am always here for you", she held his hand.
" Uncle helps. Raj and Rahul too", he said sadly. " I shall be fine".
Kiara hugged him.
" So pundit Agnisharma ", said Rakesh.
" Left for his heavenly abode", said Kiara.
Rakesh was nervous. The war was now looming on their heads.
Meanwhile
" You guys need to prepone your weddings", said Maddy.
" I'll talk to Aai and Manav", said Parry.
" " Yeah I'll talk to my dad too", said Solly.
" Let's all meet tomorrow ", said Raj. Maddy excused Kiara for the night.
" Be with your family.", he said.
She thanked him and left with them.
Maddy thought of an idea...
He went to his parents' place taking lovey with him. And gave dovey to Kenny.
" Keep it away from her", he said. " She is in mood to kill".
" What are you doing", asked Raj.
" A TEST", said Maddy looking pointedly at both the birds. " FIND YOUR MATE".
Kenny thought he was mad. Raj thought he was experimenting but Maddy smirked.
For the first time both the birds showed interest and looked attentively at him.
Night time
Kiara was in deep sleep when she heard someone in her balcony.
" THAT DAMN BIRD AGAIN", she screamed. " Sure it's dead now".
To her dismay she had landed with the female. Both birds ignored her and didn't like her but that dovey bird beyach despised her. It grunted and made faces at her.
" I swear you are dead b*tch", she entered the balcony
And was stunned.
Lovey Dovey were together.
The bird seller was right.
She was ectastic. She immediately removed the female from cage.
" You both are precious", she said lovingly feeding them. They chirped excitedly.
She called her husband who answered on the first ring.
" Kiara "..
" Lovey is here", she said.
" Boy it's great", said Maddy.
" I love you", she said.
" I love you", chirped a bird.
" They speak", said Maddy excitedly.
" Love birds", said Kiara. They sat on her hand. They were friends now.
Lovey Dovey were a useful hunt after all.
