*Ringing*
"Hello, Mom," I managed, the phone balanced between my ear and shoulder as my hands were busy whipping eggs into a frothy mix. "How are you?" I heard her soft, familiar voice, a gentle melody that always soothed my nerves. "I'm making breakfast, and today is a big day, Mom. I have a very important presentation, and honestly, I'm so nervous." I confessed, shifting the phone to my other shoulder so I could reach for the spatula.
"Don't worry, you'll shine, just like you always do," she assured me, her voice brimming with a joy that was purely hers. I could almost see her smiling, a vision of pure happiness. "That's exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you, Mom." A genuine smile bloomed on my face, mirroring her unseen grin. "No matter what happens, I'll always be proud of you, Zeya." I chuckled, drying my hands, the phone now secure in my grip.
