"Wait, what?" Rex blinked like he'd misheard. "What do you mean....kill them?"
The air grew heavy.
Jefferson didn't answer at first. He just stood there, his back to Rex, shoulders squared, fists trembling.
Rex could feel it.....like the pressure of a storm before it breaks. Jefferson was barely holding himself back, as if he'd rather end those gods right now with his own hands.
"They're divine, yes…" Jefferson said coldly, "but they're weak. You are stronger. And didn't you say your system allows you to grow by defeating monsters?"
"Yeah, it does," Rex muttered, confused, cautious.
"Then why are you hesitating?" Jefferson turned.
His silver eyes were no longer just glowing, they were burning. Like twin moons drowning in fury. Like he was staring at a battlefield, not a student.
