Uncle Viktor took off his thick leather belt, put on a pair of gloves, and cut a Y-shaped branch before walking toward the trap.
Upon closer observation, the cub was about the same size as a half-grown local dog, weighing no more than twenty or so pounds, with unkempt and dull yellow fur. Its forelimb, caught by the rope, was very thin.
Victor was quite decisive. He pressed its head down hard with the branch and then tied the belt around its mouth to prevent bites. In no time, the slip knot tied up the bear cub's front and hind limbs.
The thoroughly trussed up bear cub had eyes brimming with terror, while its mouth, ceaselessly howling, was covered with a thick froth of saliva as it struggled wildly.
"Damn, I had no idea Uncle Viktor was so strong when we were fishing and having an outdoor picnic earlier. He's too slick!"
