Chapter 32 - Delving into the system

All of the candidates had been returned to the spaceship they had been originally teleported to and were escorted to Cagra.

The room was still the same as before, and Cagra came in and clapped his clawed hands while giving each candidate a glance.

"Well done candidates, you and your races all survived the tutorial and can now enter the game and start giving the audience a great show"-Cagra

"Now come with me, and I will take you to a more relaxed and comfortable room, and I will answer your questions and explain the system and game"-Cagra

"Please follow me"-Cagra

The group quickly followed Cagra and was much calmer than when they first met and soon entered a nice room. It had light blue walls and different chairs and couches and a table with different foods and drinks.

Cagra also sat down on a slightly larger chair that was much more sturdy, and he watched them all eat with a toothy grin.

"Is the food to your liking?" -Cagra

"It's good, thank you"-Nancy

"Hey, man, we got any different sauces?"-Chase

"Thanks, it's good"-Jack

Everyone either responded or just kept stuffing themselves, knowing they wouldn't be eating again for a long time.

"So are you going to tell us the information we need?"-Evaline

There was complete silence as they didn't expect her to say that to him, especially in such a rude way don't forget. Cagra was a giant lizard man who had claws and teeth and high-tech armour, not someone you wanted to make angry.

Cagra just smiled however and nodded his head as he responded.

"Of course, I will start in 5 minutes. I want everyone to have a decent meal since it could be your last"-Cagra

This scared some of them, and the ones who stopped eating started again. Of course, Jack was eating some of the chocolates and sweets that were on the table in front of him but was sad he couldn't have more.

"So, is this the start after being strung along for so long? Are we going to begin the game?"-Hyun

"Indeed, candidate 8, you will start. Once I have given the necessary information, you will all go back to your observation rooms. And will have full access to all parts of the system that you get at the start of the game"-Cagra

"But let's save the questions for a few minutes as I don't want to interrupt this moment for you, so enjoy"-Cagra

The lizard man then laid back slightly and closed his eyes as his tail swayed by his side, and his claws were on the arms of the chair.

Jack was thinking while staring at Cagra and was wondering what new things they would have access to.

"I know that we will get the religious system or at least I will"-Jack

"And we will get quests which will help get skills for our races"-Jack

Also, Jack hadn't thought about it much, but it had just hit him. What would the candidates do with animals or creatures as their race? How could they compete against the civilized races.

"There must be another substitute system for them that focuses more on evolving and getting stronger so they can fight the civilized races"-Jack

"And now that I think about it, there must be benefits and negatives so they would both have to figure out ways to beat each other"-Jack

When Jack was going to go into another topic and trying to remember everything the system told him Cagras eyes opened up and he spoke.

"I think it's time, I have kept you waiting long enough, so listen up"-Cagra

"Okay well, first good job in not dying in the tutorial. That would be very embarrassing, and we would have to find another candidate, so good job"-Cagra

"Now, first of all, this is what your systems should look like"-Cagra

==================

Name:

Age:

Home Planet:Earth

Candidate:

Candidate Skills:3

Main race: 1

Minor race:0

==================

"And the screen for your Main race should look like this though there may be differences such as certain body part specifications"-Cagra

"Like what?"-Wagner

"Well hair or height or if they're aquatic it's tailored to their specifications each is unique but this is what everyone has in theirs"-Cagra

==================

Creator:

Race Name:

Food Type:

Current lifespan:

Sexual Maturity:

Racial skills: None

Religion:None

Home planet: Ludum Mundi

=================

"Hey man, my main race screen doesn't look like that!"-Hector

"Yeah, same!"-Chase

"Mine as well"-Naya

"Do not worry, this is because some of you have chosen a race that doesn't have access to the civilization system, so you get the monster system"-Cagra

=================

Creator:

Race name:

Food type:

Evolution tree:

Evolution increase:

Race bonuses:

Evolution stages:0 out of 10

================

"Yea, that's what mine looks like!"-Chase

"This is called the monster system, and instead of a civilization that gets better technology and community and culture. The monster system's goal is to create the apex race of monsters who have gone through many types of evolution and become more powerful"-Cagra

"In this system, your race will evolve unlike other candidate's races and will also have more diverse evolution options"-Cagra

"Wait it's the evolution games but the civilization races don't evolve how's that work?"-Ida

"They evolve through settings skills through quests and evolve their civilization that will change to fit them and their environment"-Cagra

"This still seems like we're on the losing side

though"-Naya

"Well, not to worry as say one of your races was to fight another now or in the future depending on the evolution they get could make them truly terrifying if they choose correctly"-Cagra

"I'm so confused they can choose one, but it's also random? "-Hector

"It's like the video game system on your world a creature called a goblin evolves to get stronger, such as turning into a hobgoblin. It's able to do that only if you choose that as an option in your tree which you decide what is available within it that they can work their way through"-Cagra

"So one day a monster could get many positive evolution traits and you decide to put that in your evolution tree. Now other monsters can decide if they want to go down that road and they will still get other random mutations which if good could make their branching path on the tree"-Cagra

"But of course, you would replace goblin with your race"-Cagra

"Ah, okay, but does the evolution that is random happen more if they kill things, or is it completely random, and they could get 10 evolutions over a year or none in their entire life?"-Naya

"Good question. Well, the fact is they will have to survive first and that they don't live as long as civilized races do. And that is because they breed quicker but don't last as long but also that not all evolutions will give a great boost of strength"-Cagra

"Some may be very small or some may even clash with each other as things react negatively to one another. But generally yes they evolve quicker through killing and that's where the evolution increase comes in decreasing the chance of bad mutations"-Cagra

"Finally the evolution bonus is given for each stage of the monster you unlock and it's a small overall boost. The stages is the hard lock on how many mutations they can have which is why the tree is so useful to you and the monsters. Since you'll know what you're getting while if the monsters choose its path it could go very good or it could die from a bad mutation"-Cagra

"So both systems have their pros and cons the civilized system gives technology and the benefits that come with creating civilization"-Cagra

"While the monster system allows fast and random evolution and allows for you to create an evolution tree and get a boost for each successful mutation gained"-Cagra

"Has that explanation been sufficient?"-Cagra

"I guess thanks"-Hector

"Much appreciated, my friend"-Chase

"I see. Well, I can work with that"-Naya

"Well then back to the civilization system"-Cagra

"If you are wondering about the religion part of the system, I will explain"-Cagra

"The basics are that you will get access to the religion of your race and can decide what type of religion it is. Choose some of the blessings you can give to your race be it as a whole or on a specific devoted person"-Cagra

"This is what some options will be like"-Cagra

==================

Religion name:

Type of religion:

Type of God:

Beliefs:

Blessings:

Curses:

Rituals:

Symbols:

Religion Level:

==================

"These are the options from the name to what the religion you will have, whether it is expansionist and militaristic or more cultural and artistic."-Cagra

"Your religion could also focus on education or monetary gain and will have many avenues to decide from"-Cagra

"The type of God is what you decide you will be, which is up to you and will affect everything in your religion from the beliefs to the curses and more "-Cagra

"The beliefs are what your religion believes in and strives towards and can change or shift over time and more can be added or taken away"-Cagra

"The curses and blessings are obvious you bless those who are loyal and helpful and curse those who have done wrong or who are interfering with you"-Cagra

"And finally rituals and symbols are important for your race as it is the ways they can pray to you and ask for blessings and speak to you"-Cagra

"The symbols are also important ways for people to identify each other and also use them to meet up and communicate or make holy sites among many other things"-Cagra

"Any questions?"-Cagra

"Well, can things clash with each other?"-Wagner

"Yes, they can"-Cagra

"Okay, so let's say I choose to be the god of nature but then tell my followers to start burning down forests. Will that have negative effects?"-Wagner

"Yes, as said, your races are living beings, and while some may think it's for a greater cause, others will say you work in mysterious ways, but most will start to be less loyal. Or will change their religion to fit the build you have chosen, and don't forget not all of your race will be religious and some may actively fight against you"-Cagra

"They won't be perfect, and some will be murders and criminals, and some may be your most loyal followers but be disgusting people"-Cagra

"That is one of the things you must realize your race won't all be completely loyal some will rebel. Some will be greedy and malicious and you have to keep them in check"-Cagra

"What about the religion Levels?"-Nancy

"Well, as your religion spreads and gathers more followers, your religious level increases and gives you access to more blessings and beliefs and allows your religion to be more advanced and stronger"-Cagra

"So, is there a limited amount of everything?"-Nacy

"You are correct as you will have to build up your religion and not just throw an entire belief system at a race as they wouldn't understand it and embrace it properly"-Cagra

"You can change the beliefs, but as I said, there will be pushback, and you may lose some followers, so I suggest you be careful when creating your religion"-Cagra

"Any other questions?"-Cagra

"How many blessings and curses do we get?"-Jack

"Well, at the start, one blessing and one curse, but you will get a maximum of 5 each at the max level"-Cagra

"Can our blessings and curses affect other races?"-Jack

This made the other candidates think and caused a smile to form on Cagras's face as it seemed this candidate looked a little deeper than the others.

"Yes, but some blessings may only work on those loyal to you, but you can pick blessings that work on things like animals or nature and items among other things"-Cagra

"Anything else?"-Cagra

"But are we going to really be gods?"-Gabriella

"Yes, but do not forget you won't be all-powerful as most of the systems in the games have been capped and aren't at their full power"-Cagra

"So what is that cap at?"-Hyun

"The planet level so technological and religious system and also the monster system and more are all capped at the power of a single planet"-Cagra

"What's it like outside the game and one planet?"-Hyun

"Classified unless you win the game"-Cagra

"Is there anything else on the religion system?"-Cagra

"Well, finally, is the simple enemies and allies system, which is the races you are fighting against or who you are helping"-Cagra

"Well with that being mostly everything I would just like to add when you start fighting or making alliances. Your systems will track and log them and you can issue wars if you want to and try to negotiate if needed"-Cagra

"If we went to war why would we stop especially if we die if we lose this game"-Hector

"Well it's for certain circumstances such as If a native race attacks both candidates who are at war and are a risk to both you can focus on that or on the rare occasion your races survival rests on cooperation"-Cagra

This made Jack think.

"Wait, there are other intelligent beings. I thought the world was just going to be filled with creatures like the wolves, so there are other tribes in the world?"-Jack
