Chapter 251 - 251. My Own Cabbage Got Taken

Lin Xiaohan's heart skipped a beat. So this is what it feels like to be in love...

And honestly? It felt wonderful.

The two of them stayed in their seats until the movie ended, faces slightly red, hands held tightly.

Afterward, they strolled through the mall together, chatting quietly about their childhood memories.

It was funny—up until now, they hadn't really gotten to know each other deeply.

Compared to Jason Liu, who came from a modest countryside village, Lin Xiaohan grew up with more comfort. Her parents ran a large supermarket, and her family had always lived well.

Still, as they shared stories from their youth and talked about little things from the past, especially after today's confession and time alone, their bond suddenly grew stronger.

At least now, their relationship was official.

That evening, they went out for a romantic Western-style dinner. Then, Jason drove Lin Xiaohan back to her apartment.

Standing outside the building, Lin Xiaohan looked at him with a teasing smile. Her big eyes sparkled playfully as she said, "Hey, Jason Liu, wanna come up and sit for a bit? If my parents see you dropping me off, they'll probably pull you inside to greet them." She giggled. "They'd love to have a little talk with you."

Jason immediately shook his head like his life depended on it. "No thanks! Just tell your mom and dad I said hello. I'll visit next time, I promise…"

Things were different now. Lin Xiaohan was his girlfriend. If he stepped into her home again, her parents would definitely give him the full interrogation—like a proper father and mother-in-law.

And with them, that meant questions about marriage. About children. The whole deal.

He could already hear his own mother's endless questions ringing in his ears—he wasn't ready to deal with Lin Xiaohan's parents too!

Better to escape now while I still can.

Jason glanced at the entrance of her apartment building, then opened the trunk and took out a bouquet of roses, a few new clothes, and gifts he'd picked up for her at the mall.

"Hurry up and take these before your parents come outside. If they see me, I'm not going to be able to leave! Bye!" Jason quickly handed her the items, then turned to bolt, hoping to avoid getting caught by Mr. and Mrs. Lin.

"Hold on!" Lin Xiaohan called out, carrying the gift bags in one hand as her high heels tapped on the pavement. Her cheeks were a little pink, and she walked up slowly, eyes bright and mischievous.

Jason turned back, a bit puzzled. "What's wrong? Did you forget something in the car?"

Blushing, Lin Xiaohan shook her head. Then, under his surprised gaze, she stepped forward and quickly rose on tiptoe, pressing her soft cherry lips gently to his cheek.

Kiss.

And then she immediately backed away, her face red, but her eyes glowing with joy.

Jason touched the spot on his cheek where she had kissed him, a grin slowly spreading across his face. He was about to step forward and return the favor, maybe with a kiss of his own...

But Lin Xiaohan had already grabbed the rest of the things from his hands and ran inside laughing.

She stood just inside the doorway with a smug smile, waving. "Hee hee! Bye! Drive safe, okay? Text me when you get home!"

Jason chuckled, touched his nose, and nodded. He waved back, then climbed into his car and drove off.

Lin Xiaohan watched his car disappear into the distance, then turned around and hummed a cheerful tune as she entered the elevator.

Inside the apartment, Lin's mom and dad were watching TV in the living room. When Lin Xiaohan walked in, her bright mood was obvious.

Mom Lin raised an eyebrow and asked, "Xiaohan, how was your class today? I thought you didn't even like that study group."

Dad looked over too, chuckling. "You seem really happy today. Must've been a good day, huh?"

Lin Xiaohan changed into her slippers at the doorway, then walked into the living room with her gift bag and sat down next to her mom, snuggling up. "Mmm, yeah, today was great! Hee hee. Have you guys eaten yet?"

Her mother nodded. She was about to say they already had dinner when she caught a glimpse of a ring on Xiaohan's right hand. Her eyes widened.

She immediately grabbed her daughter's hand and stared at the ring. "This is... a couple's ring! Xiaohan, who gave you this? Are you dating someone?!"

Dad Lin also leaned forward in surprise. They had been hoping their daughter would find a boyfriend, but seeing a ring out of nowhere still caught them off guard.

"Who is he, Xiaohan? Someone we know?" he asked, narrowing his eyes.

Suddenly, he remembered the young man from before—the one who drank with him and even called him 'brother.' Could it be...?

"Wait a minute. Is it that Jason Liu kid you brought home a while ago?"

Even though Lin Xiaohan felt a little shy, she didn't try to hide it. She nodded proudly. "Yes! Jason confessed to me today, and I said yes. We're officially together now. We bought this ring together. He even dropped me off just now, but I told him not to come upstairs because I knew you'd both tease him!"

She burst out laughing at the memory of Jason running away.

Mom Lin's eyes lit up. "So it really was Jason Liu! I thought it was strange when you brought a boy home out of nowhere last time. So this is your boyfriend, huh? How long have you been dating? Why didn't you tell us?"

"I didn't hide anything!" Xiaohan pouted. "I only met him at the cinema earlier this year. We started talking after that. If you don't believe me, ask Chu Chu—she was there that day!"

Dad Lin spoke up with a slightly grumpy tone, "So when are you bringing that kid over again? Last time, I wasn't careful. He said he couldn't drink, and then he drank me under the table! The boy tricked me. I've got to give him a good scolding next time!"

He huffed, clearly still bitter about it.

"Oh, come on," Mom Lin rolled her eyes at her husband. "You can't hold your liquor, and you're blaming the poor boy? If he really wanted to, he could drink you into the hospital! Don't act tough."

Lin Xiaohan giggled. "Dad, Jason really doesn't drink. He never drinks at company dinners either. Please don't force him to!"

Hearing his daughter defend the boy already made Dad Lin feel like his precious cabbage had been stolen by a sneaky pig.
