While the students struggled to even graze Zahir with their attacks, a different kind of tension filled the teachers' lounge. Areyos and Erina seemed convinced that Zyriel genuinely knew nothing about her involvement with the Twilight Order.
"Calm down, everyone," Eyline said, waving a hand dismissively. "We're not accusing anyone. We're just asking questions." She gracefully perched on the desk, legs crossed, hands resting on her knee.
"I'm giving you a chance to answer honestly, using your free will…" she began, two light blue rings glowing in each of her eyes—one thinly outlining the retina, the other circling the middle of her iris, which had shifted from gray to the signature blue of the Kaimetsugan.
"If I believe you're lying, I'll strip you of your free will, bending your mind and spirit to my power. Is that clear?" Eyline asked, her presence growing more commanding.
