Like I said in the last chapter, I'm trying to write more emotional scenes without making it sound cringey, that's why I'm asking for y'all's constructive criticism.
Everything helps as I'm still a growing writer.

-3rd POV-
Meliodas realized what Dan Feng wanted; he wanted affection.
It might sound weird, even slightly gay, but that was what he truly yearned for from Meliodas.
But why was Meliodas humoring Dan Feng despite only having known him for a few minutes?
It was because Meliodas saw him as a person who was similar to him.
Meliodas himself had a rather... complicated relationship with his family.
He was the oldest in the household, and his two little brothers and his mother lived with him in a small apartment in California.
To most, these conditions might make them seem poor... well, yes, they were, but they were happy together despite that.
But it ALL went to shit when Meliodas's mother fell ill, dying and leaving them behind in great reluctance.
However, the custody of his brothers did not go to him; it was to their father.
A fucking deadbeat that only came and visited once a month, leaving his mother to raise the three by herself. Damn bitch even ate their food despite the small child support he gave to Meliodas's mother.
It wasn't even that he was busy or that he couldn't stay with them because of his job; it was simply that he didn't want to move in with them, as he was comfortable with his own life in Mexico.
And Meliodas understood better than anyone what his father was, a deadbeat. But the problem was that Meliodas's brothers didn't see him the same way.
Because Meliodas was the oldest and had been the man of the house from a young age, they didn't have as much struggle as he did. They also weren't old enough to see the struggle their mother had gone through, so their hate for their father wasn't what it should have been.
In fact, they loved him!
And they became incredibly close when they moved in with him.
With the exception of Meliodas, of course.
His father could tell easily that he didn't like him and didn't care. That's why he showed favoritism towards the two youngest, keeping them stupid to reality.
Years went by, and shit got worse for Meliodas. That was the case until he turned 18 and was kicked out of the house, which was perfect either way since Meliodas wanted to pursue a medical career.
Specifically, as a cardiologist, the disease his mother died from was Coronary artery disease.
Ultimately, he managed to persevere after years of hard work and many, and I mean MANY, loans.
But Meliodas died as he was about to graduate and was reincarnated here.
But in the end, Meliodas truly understood the loneliness Dan Feng felt.
It was like being stuck and drowning in an ocean of murky water. Your lungs being constantly filled with its suffocating water, making you wish that you'd run out of air and drown already.
But it refuses your wishes, keeping you alive constantly despite the fact that you should have been dead long ago.
Meliodas knew it better than anyone.
But even so, after his reincarnation, he gained that love and affection he longed for once again after his mother's death when he picked up his adopted daughters.
Little by little, their hands reached into the murky waters and slowly dragged him out to shore.
Of course, there were some things that couldn't be completely cured yet, but... he could breathe easier now.
And now that he could feel Dan Feng's desperate pleas, Meliodas couldn't turn away.
Not now, not anymore.
So Meliodas decided to open his soul to him, just as Dan Feng did.
A surge of spiritual energy flowed through them both, like a sea of sorrows being flowed through their very beings, but they both found an odd comforting in that.
"This!" Dan Feng's eyes widened as he could feel Meliodas's soul bare. A surge of happiness jolted through him as he saw Meliodas returning the sentiment.
Now he could feel it: Meliodas was exactly like him.
After a few seconds, both of them drew their spiritual energy back from each other's bodies, a sigh of relief coming out of Meliodas.
It didn't hurt anymore after he let Dan Feng's spiritual energy through him freely, but it was definitely exhausting to have all that energy stuffed into you at once.
Suddenly, Dan Feng pounced onto Meliodas, giving him a deep hug with a stupid smile on his face.
"Welcome to my island, our home, brother." Dan Feng's heart fluttered slightly as he called him brother. It was the first time he had said that to someone.
As Dan Feng was in his little world, Meliodas smiled wryly as two people looked at him with deadly gazes.
The first one was Jingliu. 'Is... he into men???' She wondered in her mind, not knowing what the fuck just happened.
And the second person was Yingxing, who was looking at them both with his mouth wide open. He was shocked by the sudden events, and the stupid smile on Dan Feng, which was an expression he had NEVER seen before.
