Chapter 12 - progress

It has been about three months—or maybe more; I really couldn't tell you.

I have been so immersed in studying, and practicing magic, along with meditation, and purifying nature that I lost track of time.

I have learned learned a lot thanks to my intuitive aptitude, my spell casting became very fluid and very very fast, but that's not all, my control and connection to magic is a lot stronger than before too…

Is it fair? No!! But magic was never fair—It took me about three months to learn, practice, and coming close to master—most basic wizarding magic—what would takes a normal wizard 7 to 10 years to master just one, and even that depends on their aptitude…

Sure, I studied a little of everything, but my favorites are still charms and transfiguration—with a particular love for transfiguration.

Still that didn't mean I was a master in either subject yet, even with my talent it would still take a little bit of time to be a true master…

To give you a clearer image, Dumbledore is a true master of transfiguration, and charms…That means as of now I can't defeat him by using just these two, sure I believe I can defeat him, but that has nothing to do with mastery alone, I am far stronger than him magically, physically and maybe mentally plus he is old, and I don't plan on fighting fair…

Anyway, I have also started to use the mental exercises left by Ravenclaw and let me tell you, although they are difficult—especially the illogical side—for most, they are very rewarding.

The illogical side of the exercises is meant to train a wizard to think that everything is possible.

Now here's the kicker: most humans don't believe in something illogical—While they can fantasize about something unreal, they struggle with grasping the concept of the illogical…

Still that didn't mean I had the same problem, I've been to the void and lived the illogical side, so to me, it was like, "Eh, I've seen better."

If you're wondering how the exercises work, well, there are two small magically enchanted pictures in the book that you must focus on with your undivided attention.

The logical side is straightforward—it shows you different things and asks you to come up with a logical and reasonable explanation while timing you, so you have to think fast.

On the other hand, the illogical side requires you to look at a picture, after which you find yourself jumbled in gibberish that seems crazy and illogical—like for example; level one of the illogical side of the exercise is where you find yourself in a vast land where the grass is blue, white, black, or just colors you can't actually tell what they are—and you have to match the scene's level of gibberish to progress or move up, like going, "Oh, let's change the sky and make it green, and the water is purple." And so on and so forth…It was a truly great experience.

Some would say, it's easy but no it's not because while doing the exercise you have to fight the urge to make everything as normal as you know and believe it to be… and that's not easy.

For now, though, I can only call myself a true master in just one topic: runes.

I studied and mastered all seven most used Runic languages, ( while dabbling in others) and I can now perfectly understand the meaning of anything written in any of these languages.

I dedicated a lot of time to Runes despite my love for transfiguration and charms, just to comprehend whatever Dumbledore did in that room, and I believe I am ready; that's why I'm going to do it tonight.

But first, I need to prepare. If anyone out there is wondering what I need to prepare, then don't, because my preparation just involves actually getting some sleep.

I haven't slept more than two to three hours a day in months. My time has been spent either studying or practicing and modifying any spell I could find. It was enjoyable and great, but I really want to sleep—so I'm going to.

It was time well spent. Sleeping for a long time just because you can has a very different kind of pleasure.

Anyway, it's time to see what kind of mess Dumbledore has been cooking up. So, wearing my invisibility cloak, I went down to the fifth floor, following Hogwarts' instructions…

Arriving in front of an abandoned room that was plastered with different variations of "Notice-Me-Not" charms, attention aversion and repelling wards, and basically every kind of magic that makes a person ignore the room, I coated myself in Null energy and swiftly entered.

Now, when I say that I wasn't expecting this, I mean it—and believe me, I was expecting all kinds of horrific things…

I truly expected messed-up things from Dumbledore, but not this. This is a different level of mess.

I didn't even need to thoroughly check to judge this. Want to know why? Because there were demonic runes and symbols everywhere.

Some may ask, "What's the difference?" Well, let me put it this way: anything that has demonic runes and symbols on it is never a good thing—and I mean never!!

I began to quickly scan and identify everything in the room; every inch, and every rune was examined.

It took me a whole hour of thorough scanning just to ensure I didn't miss anything hidden—and I still wasn't sure if I missed anything…

What I discovered, though, was not pretty.

All of this was a ritual—a ritual essentially going to turn our esteemed headmaster into some kind of divine demonic vassal for God knows what kind of being—or at least that what I believe the ritual to be…

I am not a master of demonic runes but I am proficient enough to tell that there's more than just one meaning for what's written…

Now, I'm not one to be easily scared, and neither would you if you have experienced what I experienced, but this shit genuinely terrified me.

This ritual is nearly complete too; it has been harnessing the belief of wizardkind for years if the magical crystal in the middle is anything to go by.

'I need to change this situation immediately,' an urgent thought popped into my head, but I suppressed it…

Damn, I freaked out for a second there.

'Fuuuh'

Taking deep breaths and calming down, I summoned my Grimoire and began thinking of solutions—two minds are better than one—and in this case, the more minds you have, the better.

I came up with a lot of ideas, but two were the feasible solutions:

1. I could disrupt the ritual when the crazy old man starts it. This would likely kill him and have very unforeseen consequences. Consequences I couldn't predict, and I didn't like that…

2. I could modify it and repurpose it for something else. I could go on and on about why I chose this, but I don't think I need to…

I had already chosen the second option the moment the idea came up, and so, without wasting time, I started warding the place with the help of Hogwarts just so that I wouldn't alert anyone with what I am doing, and then started deleting all the demonic runes and symbols, while continuously purifying their influence. It was only after three hours of work that I completed the first step.

The second step was to write down what I wanted to use this crystallized belief for—which I hadn't really thought about before—then it hit me.

I could upgrade Hogwarts from its magic artifact self into a semi-divine one.

Oh, in case I haven't mentioned it before, Hogwarts is not just a castle; it's also a magical artifact of the highest level.

It truly is a magnificent piece of magic, but more on that later.

Now, how do I do this?

I began by calculating and determining the geometrical shape needed, which turned out to be a circular one—thank god for small mercies—so I completed the now fractured ritual circle and started inscribing runes all over the place.

I described my desire to upgrade Hogwarts into a refuge for magical learning and protection for magical children.

These were my only requirements for the ritual, as my instincts told me that leaving the options open was for the best—and then I asked for Hogwarts' permission, which was promptly granted.

But before I could start, a magical orange portal appeared, interrupting me… Quickly, without thinking, I cast three different kinds of shielding charms: "Protego Maxima," "Protego Reflectior," and "Aegis Veil," infusing them with more magic and preparing for whoever this was, while casting a stunning spell toward the portal...

' the stunning spell fizzled out before it can pass the portal'

This magic didn't feel wizardly; it felt different, more neutral, universal, and foreign—What a weird magic; it feels like it was borrowed and not at the same time—This is a whole other level of confusing.

A bald woman who looked like a Buddhist emerged from the portal—the Ancient One—the name popped into my head, but I didn't have time to think about it…

She looked at me with a gaze that I couldn't quite place, then turned her attention to the room with interest plastered all over her face…

I remained still and waited for her while using every ounce of my focus on trying to decipher her and her magic—I can hear the planet warning me not to start a conflict with her, and my instincts tell me I wouldn't win in a fight…

"Very interesting shielding charms you have put up, Mr. Potter," she suddenly said, and then continued after a brief pause, "I have been watching you since the day you escaped Azkaban. I am very interested in what happened to you while you were there, that would make even the Vishanti wary of you."

She continued examining the ritual while I was thinking about why the Vishanti would be wary of me; true, I knew things—fragmented as they may be—about this multiverse, but I also didn't actually know if my knowledge was correct.

"Who are you? What are you doing here? And who is this Vishanti?" I fired my questions in quick succession—I didn't actually know much about her other than the fact that she is a protector of Earth and some other unimportant things.

Plus, this woman is dangerous; she can somehow see/feel natural energy surrounding me if the way her eyes moved when I tried using natural energy to covertly restrain her was any indication…

'That was a clear warning if I ever knew one…'

"All very good questions, Mr. Potter, but I don't have really time to answer them today. You can come and satiate your curiosity by visiting me once you are done with your plans," the knowing look on her face irked me, but I didn't actually have the power to do anything…

She waved her hand a little and took one last look at the ritual circle and turned to leave but paused before entering her magical portal and said: "And one more thing, Mister Potter, you forgot to check under the crystal; you missed something there." She entered her portal and left, not forgetting to leave behind a card.

I looked at the card for a moment but didn't touch it, I just levitated it using magic, read the contents, and then banished it.

I don't want to touch anything I can't understand for now.

Some may criticize me for being and calling what I did overreacting, but those ignorant of the way of magic can't criticize the ones who know…

Still, I followed her advice and gently and very carefully levitated the crystal.

Son of a bitch—there is still one demonic symbol left, and I couldn't sense it. How?? I don't know, but now wasn't the time for questions.

'I guess I was due for a little humbling, huh.'

Now that I erased it, I began checking everything once again.

Once I was sure that everything was in order, I connected the ritual circle to the school's rune stone to be the ritual's recipient and started to check everything one last time…

I kick started the ritual and quickly exited the room.

I was exhausted, but still, I sealed the room and called Dobby, ordered him to seal the room too—just for the sake of being careful—and had him take me back to the ROR.

Then, as soon as I was sure I was safe, I relaxed, and everything went black.

Thank you for reading the story…

And thanks for the one who sent me 1$ on paypal while asking me to start a new story because this one sucks— it's not that I don't want to start another story or finish rewriting this faster but you try doing what I am doing using an old iphone 5 while having killer migraines…

Anyway, comment if you see any glaring issues please!
