Tenderly, Augustine laid Charles on the bed and pulled the blanket up to his neck, making sure his body was fully shielded from the cold.
Afterward, Augustine made his way to the bathroom, took a quick shower, then stepped into his walk-in closet.
He dressed in a pair of tailored brown suit trousers, a matching blazer, and a fitted black long-sleeve shirt beneath.
Grabbing his briefcase and slipping his phone into his pocket, Augustine returned to the bed and sat down beside the sleeping beauty.
"Baby boy, I need to get going," Augustine whispered, rubbing gentle circles on Charles's back.
"Mmm?" Charles murmured, his lashes fluttering open as he adjusted to the morning light.
Once his eyes fully opened, he frowned. "Why did you get dressed without me?" Charles questioned, his voice husky with sleep.
Augustine let out a soft chuckle. "I've been trying to wake you for a while now."
