Mu Qian was currently in his study, on a video call with key company personnel, conducting a meeting.
When his phone rang, Mu Qian glanced at it and immediately picked it up, intending to answer. Yet, his hand paused as he coldly said to the computer, "The meeting ends here today."
Then he turned off the video and stared at the lit-up phone but did not pick it up immediately.
Not until the last ring did his slender fingers swipe lightly across it, his voice cold and emotionless, "What is it?"
Wen Jiaren, who hadn't heard Mu Qian's voice for a long time, unconsciously trembled, pausing for a few seconds before slowly speaking, "Xiao'er is with me. Did you know?"
Mu Qian responded coldly with a "Hmm."
After another long silence, seeing that Mu Qian was not speaking, Wen Jiaren asked again, "He asked me to take him out to play, to places like the zoo. Can I?"
Another "Hmm" came from the other end.
