I looked directly into Elden's eyes and stated, "I need to know the truth about this spell." Are there any risks you haven't mentioned to me?
Elden's expression softened and he let out a sigh before briefly lowering his head to look at me once again. "Helen," he said softly, "every strong spell has a risk. Although there are risks involved, this is our greatest chance to halt Leoric.
A knot started to grow in my stomach. "What dangers are there?"
After a moment of hesitation, Elden spoke. "It might deplete your energy and possibly erode your bond with Scott," he acknowledged. But Helen, you're strong. I think you're capable.
