Helen's POV
I felt different when I woke up, and not in a good way. A dark, whispering power hummed beneath my skin as I moved, sending a weird tingling sensation through my arms. I inhaled deeply in the hopes that the sensation would lessen, but it simply got stronger.
Uneasy, I glanced around the room. "Why am I feeling this way?" With a shaky voice, I whispered to myself.
I tried to ignore it and push it away, but the sensation persisted. It seemed like a sinister force was attempting to take over, distorting my perception and altering my thinking. At least not the me I desired to be, it didn't feel like me.
Scott and Elden were waiting outside when I arrived, both giving me worried looks. "How are you, Helen?" Scott asked in a soft voice. He put a reassuring hand on my shoulder and extended out.
I tried to grin. "I am... I'm all right. A little worn out.
