As the afternoon crept on, I knew I had to get off this yacht.
Nikolai was unhinged. A freaking duvet had sent him over the edge.
He wanted to keep me locked up, naked and cold, so he could humiliate and torture me. There was no telling what would happen if I stayed.
The boat had turned yesterday, with the sun appearing on the other side of the yacht. That meant we were headed back toward the Russian coast. Why?
No way had Nikolai changed his mind about keeping me captive, so something else must have happened. Whatever the reason, I was grateful. Closer to Italy meant closer to help, closer to my sister and her powerful husband. If I could somehow get back on Russian soil, all I needed to do was whisper Sergio's name and I would gain sanctuary, instantly safe from whatever Nikolai planned.
But it meant getting in the water.
I wasn't sure I could do it, but what choice did I have? I couldn't stay here. Maybe I could find a small kayak or raft somewhere onboard.
