Cortana, time to finally have a good high calorie meal. By the way, with how much energy I was producing yesterday, how is the sorting and organizing of all the information you downloaded?"
"About one in a millionth of the total information had been sorted. Progress is going smoothly and should speed up with your future intake of calories and energy to burn." Hearing Cortana's mention of such a staggering amount, he can't help but sigh as to how long it would take to finally have an upgrade for Cortana.

Wesley exhaled, thinking of the distant future when Cortana might finally get her upgrade. Possibly very far into the future.
He went to a local chicken shop run by a black man. With what seemed to be their own original recipe, it was sure to taste good. He bought a bucket packed with calories for Cortana to convert into energy. She said she could manipulate his digestion to speed up the process when necessary.
Returning to his work, Wesley turned on his computer. Instead of going on a dramatic outburst like in the original movie, he planned to write a formal resignation letter. After all, it wasn't like the company was toxic—just a depressed boss and a worker who sucked at his job.
After printing the letter, he headed to Janis's office.
Knock knock.
Waiting for Janis—who was clearly cleaning her desk and shoving away her jelly donuts—he heard her finally call out, "Come in."
"Morning, Miss Janis," Wesley greeted her. "This is my resignation letter."
Perplexed as to why he'd suddenly quit when he had been doing well lately, she raised a brow. "Hmm? How come you're handing in your resignation? You've been doing a good job these past several days. I was even thinking of getting you a raise in next week's evaluation report."
"It's like this. Although I never met my father—he left before I could even walk or remember him—someone approached me and told me he died. I'm at a loss for how to feel about it, but the news that he left me his fortune... and his burdens... it's overwhelming. So, I'm handing in my resignation until I can get everything sorted out. Maybe someday I'll return to this job."
"Oh. Sorry about the news of your father's death. That must be so unexpected for you." Janis softened her voice. "Well, I'll gladly accept your resignation. Hopefully, you sort everything out. I'll leave a spot open for you if you ever decide to come back."
'I guess being good at your job and not giving your boss any trouble won't get you the same wrath I used to get,' he mused.
Heading back to his cubicle, Wesley packed some of his things. There wasn't much to carry, but remembering the movie scene, he grabbed his big ergonomic keyboard to take with him.
Barry was late again but arrived just in time to see Wesley leaving. Spotting him carrying stuff from his cubicle, he called out, "Hey, are you cleaning up again?"
"No. I quit." Wesley looked at Barry with a smirk as they slowly approached each other.
"What? Quit? Are you going to another company?" Barry asked, confused.
"It's not that. I found a new purpose in life... and I'd like to stay far away from you from now on." Wesley's smirk dropped into a frown.
"What? Did I do something wrong to you?" Barry stopped and stared, baffled.
"I know what you did. You can keep Casey for yourself—I don't want her anymore." As Wesley came within range, he activated his adrenaline rush, raised the keyboard, and smashed it into Barry's face, knocking him out cold. All the nearby coworkers gasped at the scene.
Without missing a beat, Wesley walked over Barry. Passing by Nicole, he gave her a goodbye kiss on the lips, drawing another wave of gasps from the crowd, then continued out of the office for good.
He hailed a taxi and went straight to the library where he could access a public computer with internet access.
"So, Cortana, any insights on what I could do to secure all my cash?"
[I have no clue. It would be helpful if you could connect me to the internet to look up what options are available. This world is different from your old one, after all. And I have yet to fully process all the information from there.]
As Wesley browsed through internet data, one particular company caught Cortana's eye.
[There is a company called Stark Industries in the stock market. It seems to be a popular choice for investment.]
Wesley sat up straight. "Don't tell me... Stark Industries? As in Stark—as in Iron Man Stark?"
[It indeed is. The moment information about Stark Industries appeared, I thought it wise to inform you. It may be worth considering.]
"Is this world an amalgamation of several movies? Like, 'Wanted' and 'Iron Man'... maybe the whole Marvel Universe could be here too."
[That could be possible. Further collection of data is required to confirm your conjecture, Master.]
"No need. The more I know, the more troublesome it gets. Knowledge is a burden, as they say. Besides, I'm far too weak to face Iron Man. No strength, no rep, no backup. If you start telling me who else is in this world, I'll just stress out wondering how to survive. Ignorance is bliss."
[Have you figured out a way to hide your money, Master?] Cortana asked, trying to ease the mood.
"Do Netflix and the other company giants exist in this universe? Maybe I'll invest in those and a little in Stark Industries when their stock dips."
[Netflix and the others do not exist here, though similar companies do. There's something called Cyflix, Orange, Macrohard, Onecent, and the like.]
"That'll work. Any updates on our genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist?"
[There is some news of Stark's kidnapping.] Cortana pulled up a live video window in front of his corneal HUD.
"It has been three months since Tony Stark was kidnapped. The military continues the search and has yet to give up on his eventual return. Stark Industries' stock is showing signs of fluctuations as Tony Stark continues to remain miss—"
Wesley cut the clip short. "How long was Stark imprisoned in the movie?"
[After his rescue, he stated he had been locked up for three months.]
Cortana answered according to the information sorted from his old world.
