Ever since he had handed over the Devil Fruit he once dismissed as "not a good thing," Enel had been haunted by an indescribable feeling of regret.
After joining the Straw Hat Pirates and learning the true power of that fruit from the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia, his regret deepened immeasurably.
From a young age, Enel had harbored an unshakable desire to become the most powerful being—someone who could control his own destiny. While his confrontation with the Straw Hats had ended in camaraderie and his plans to destroy Skypiea had been abandoned, his ambition to achieve supreme strength remained undeterred.
Thus, discovering that the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, one of the most fearsome Logia abilities, could have elevated him to the next level—and remembering that he'd sold it off for a paltry sum of a few million berries—gnawed at him like a wound that wouldn't heal.
What made it worse was that the person who now wielded that power stood before him: Yamato.
The electric field Yamato unleashed, scorching the ground black with a casual flick, served as a painful reminder of what Enel had given away. Clutching the technologically enhanced staff that Franky and Usopp had built for him, he fixed Yamato with a glare that betrayed his inner turmoil, his body tense and ready for a fight.
Luffy, however, was characteristically direct. Ignoring Yamato's warning, he stepped forward without hesitation, crossing into the electric field.
The high-voltage currents that had scorched the earth didn't faze him in the slightest. Apart from white smoke rising from his clothes due to the heat, Luffy appeared completely unharmed.
"Wait a minute! Luffy's made of rubber!" Usopp shouted in sudden realization. "Rubber isn't affected by lightning!"
Yamato glanced at Luffy, muttering to herself, "Rubber? Isn't it the Nika Fruit?"
As one of Alex's most trusted vassals, Yamato was privy to the fruit's true identity and its profound significance. She knew it was the Human-Human Fruit: Model Nika, a symbol of liberation. It represented something much larger—something Alex himself had spoken of in the prison long ago.
The prophecy, tied to the turbulent era on the horizon, painted the Straw Hat before her as a key figure—a pivotal piece in the grand game Alex was preparing to play.
Yamato's eyes lingered on Luffy, her grip tightening on the mace at her waist.
"I already said I'm not responsible for what happens next," she warned, her voice calm but heavy with intent.
Stopping a short distance from Yamato, Luffy glanced briefly at the intense battle raging between Zoro, Kuina, and Rayleigh before locking eyes with her again.
"I hate people from the Sky Kingdom," he said, his tone low and intense. "You bully my friends, and now you're interfering with Uncle Rayleigh and holding us back."
Planting his fists on the ground, Luffy pumped his legs like pistons. His skin flushed bright red as his body began to emit overheated steam.
"So, I'll knock you into the ground!"
Gear Second
With a burst of compressed air, Luffy vanished, moving faster than even his usual Shave technique. He streaked toward Yamato like a cannonball, his movements almost imperceptible.
Luffy's rubber-coated fists, charged with incredible force, were upon her, firing off in rapid succession like a relentless machine gun.
"Rubber Rubber Jet Gun Battering!"
The air exploded with the sound of his assault, each punch a concussive blast aimed directly at Yamato.
Though Yamato could have easily evaded using Observation Haki or even an instantaneous dodge, she chose not to. She stood firm, letting Luffy's relentless barrage of fists, accelerated by his Jet Gatling, strike her directly.
—Hoosh!
—ZiZiZi!
Luffy's fists, moving at incredible speed, passed through Yamato's body harmlessly. Where each blow landed, her form flickered, breaking into countless crackling electric currents—elementalization, the most basic yet effective defense of a Logia user.
The sheer force of the attack obliterated the ground beneath Yamato's feet, leaving it cracked and smoldering. Yet, as the dust cleared, she stood unharmed.
Luffy, realizing the futility of his attack, twisted his waist sharply, retracting his fists with a determined expression.
Yamato, however, made no move to counter. She simply smirked and asked, "Do you have any other tricks up your sleeve?"
Luffy didn't respond. Instead, he bit into the thumb of his right hand and began blowing air into it, inflating his arm like a massive balloon.
Rubber Rubber Giant's Pistol!
His fist expanded to the size of a giant's, casting a shadow over the battlefield as he roared and slammed the massive punch toward Yamato. The ground cracked under the weight of his blow as it barreled forward, covering over ten meters in an instant.
"Interesting," Yamato muttered.
The moment Luffy's enormous fist closed in, her body dissipated into streaks of lightning, crackling as they ascended into the air.
Boom!
The ground where Yamato had been standing moments before exploded, a deep crater forming beneath Luffy's attack.
Above him, Yamato's form reconstituted from countless electric particles. With a graceful but powerful motion, she lowered herself slightly, gripping her mace tightly in both hands. Her pupils gleamed with an ominous light as violent Haki surged out of her body, intertwining with crackling blue and red lightning.
Twisting her waist with precise control, Yamato channeled her raw strength and unleashed a devastating swing. Her mace became a blur of force, tearing through the air with a sound like the world itself splitting apart.
Raimei Hakke!!
In an instant, faster than a lightning strike, the mace slammed directly into Luffy's exposed abdomen.
"Gwahh!"
Luffy cried out in pain as blood spurted from his mouth. His body, small in comparison to Yamato's attack, was launched like a missile.
—BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The impact drove Luffy into the ground, creating a massive crater. The earth trembled violently, and waves of smoke, dust, and debris erupted from the site, blanketing the battlefield in chaos.
The shockwave swept outward like a hurricane, tearing through everything in its path.
Seeing the aftermath, Rayleigh acted swiftly. With a precise slash imbued with terrifying power, he forced both Zoro and Kuina to retreat momentarily.
Though Kuina's sharp eyes quickly assessed the shift in the battle, Rayleigh had already achieved his goal.
Using the momentary reprieve, Rayleigh turned and rushed toward the enormous crater where Luffy had fallen.
