Chapter 342 - Shin Gains a Daughter

The mansion gifted by the Shiomiya family was exceptionally large, with plenty of unused rooms. Shin chose one of the spare storage rooms as the location for the Heroic Spirit summoning.

Coincidentally, he remembered that the beginning of the *Fate/stay night* story also involved the protagonist, Shirou Emiya, performing a summoning in a storage room. This felt like a homage to that.

"What is this...?"

Irisviel watched as Shin suddenly pulled out a massive cross-shaped shield from nowhere and placed it in the center of the storage room.

This shield was none other than Mash's shield, the Noble Phantasm of the Knight of the Round Table, Galahad—Lord Camelot.

In the *Fate/Grand Order* (FGO) setting, the method of summoning Heroic Spirits was based on this shield, utilizing its concept of gathering troops to perform the summoning.

Since Shin had cleared the *Camelot Singularity* in FGO, the system's reward was naturally the FGO-style Heroic Spirit summoning system.

This was actually a good thing. If the system had given him the summoning ritual from *Fate/Zero* or *Fate/stay night*, it could have caused problems.

After all, in those earlier works, the magical foundation was rooted in the West, so only Western Heroic Spirits could be summoned.

Although Illya was technically a foreigner, the Magical Girl Illya lived in Fuyuki City, so it was uncertain whether she could be summoned.

The Chaldea summoning system, on the other hand, was far more flexible, allowing the summoning of Heroic Spirits from anywhere—though this was essentially a game mechanic designed to maximize revenue.

"This is the foundation for the Heroic Spirit summoning."

Shin casually explained to Irisviel, who was still puzzled.

He had actually considered whether he could have "Black Bird Requiem" devour the shield, potentially gaining its abilities permanently.

This might have allowed him to bypass the system's restrictions and perform multiple Heroic Spirit summons.

However, before attempting it, Shin tried to use "Black Bird Requiem" to fix the outcome of "permanently gaining the shield's abilities after devouring it."

The result was that the "ki" in his body was rapidly drained, almost completely depleted, with no sign of success.

Realizing this, Shin stopped trying to fix the outcome, understanding that the system likely didn't allow for such loopholes—it was a one-time summon, and that was final.

Following Shin's instructions, Irisviel stood beside the shield.

She was to act as the "catalyst" to see if Illya could be summoned, and she was naturally very excited.

Once she was in position, Shin placed his hand on the shield and began channeling his magical energy into it.

Although his magical energy was different from the mana used in the Type-Moon world, the system provided a convenient conversion mechanism.

The moment Shin's energy entered the shield, the summoning ritual activated, filling the spacious storage room with a dazzling light.

"Wow, such strong magical energy."

Behind Shin, at the doorway of the storage room, Tohr stood with Kanna, watching the Heroic Spirit summoning ritual.

Although she didn't understand what a Heroic Spirit summoning or Holy Grail War was, Tohr always supported and praised Shin's actions without reservation.

Of course, this time it wasn't just flattery—she genuinely felt an immense amount of magical energy coming from Shin.

Kanna, who was being held by Tohr, also nodded in agreement. Although she had long known that Shin was powerful, it was only now that she truly realized the gap between him and them.

Meanwhile, Sayu Ogiwara, standing to the side, had no idea what was happening but was amazed that Shin seemed to be doing something incredible.

However, after Shin left for school, Irisviel would explain everything to her, so Sayu wasn't in a hurry.

Shin stared intently at the light emanating from the shield—within the light, magical energy was gradually coalescing into a figure.

He kept a close eye on the figure forming in the light because if it turned out to be a man, he planned to terminate the summoning.

After all, the Heroic Spirits related to Irisviel weren't limited to Illya, and summoning something else could be problematic.

Fortunately, the figure that appeared was petite. Seeing this, Shin continued the summoning ritual.

After a moment, the light dissipated, revealing a girl dressed in extravagant clothing standing on the shield.

It was Illya in her magical girl form—just as Shin had predicted, using Irisviel as the "catalyst" had successfully summoned a Heroic Spirit related to her.

"Ugh..."

The newly summoned Illya seemed a bit disoriented. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Shin standing in front of her.

Thanks to the Heroic Spirit summoning system, she immediately recognized him as her Master.

However, upon realizing this, she looked at Shin's face and exclaimed in surprise:

"Dad?"

"Huh?"

Hearing Illya's address, Shin was stunned—what was wrong with this girl? Why was she calling her Master "Dad"?

Before Shin could clarify, Irisviel, overcome with emotion, rushed forward and tightly embraced Illya:

"Illya! It's so good to see you're okay!"

"Huh? Mom? What's going on?"

Caught in Irisviel's bear hug, Illya was momentarily confused.

She looked around in bewilderment, realizing that the situation wasn't what she had expected.

The surroundings weren't a formal setting but rather a storage room, and behind Shin stood several people she didn't recognize.

And why was Irisviel here? Illya had thought she had been summoned to another world, but why was her mother here too? Had she also been summoned?

But that couldn't be. As a Servant, Illya could sense that Irisviel's body was no different from an ordinary human's—she wasn't a Servant.

"Let's go to the living room and talk things over slowly."

Shin rubbed his temples, looking at Irisviel, who was still tightly hugging Illya.

"Not only do we need to answer Illya's questions, but I also have some questions for her."

After all, Illya's sudden address of "Dad" had been quite shocking, and he wanted to know what was going on in her world.
