Nytri and her party are outside the city heading to the location of the troll nest, they're on foot. Nytri's vision moves scouting the land ahead, she sees the location of the nest and 3 trolls at the entrance. They're currently on a path surrounded on both sides by mountains, so a mountain path.
"Looks like I found it." Nytri speaks.
Rhydderch raises a brow, "That's too soon. I was expecting us to face some monsters on the way."
Lilia looks down, "Does it mean we won't have the chance to observe nature's beauty?"
"Well," Nytri speaks, "It's just a bunch of trolls so you can have fun while I clear it."
Kael shrugs, "Seems plausible, the only one interested in this adventurer thing is you. I still don't understand why..." Kael receives message transmission from Paxius in his mind. He looks at Nytri, "Nytri, it seems Paxius is shorthanded. He intends on starting the military of Azuria but lacks enough people."
"Hmmm," Nytri squints her mouth, "Well, this quest isn't that big of deal and I might quit after this quest. So, I guess you guys can head back."
Rhydderch cups his hands in a bow, "Then I shall return and fulfill my duty as the sword of Azuria." Eryndor flicks Rhydderch on the head speaking, "What do we need a sword for? Everyone is over level 150, only the insane will pick a fight with us."
Kael gazes over them, "So Rhydderch and Sylwia will return. I'll stay with Nytri."
Sylwia raises her hand, "Why do I have to leave?"
Nytri looks at Sylwia's shaking legs, "Despite having a high level, you're not use to adventuring. Rhydderch's brooding can be annoying." In the background Rhydderch retorts, "Mother!" Nytri continues, "All in all, you guys just wanted to see the place I was born, so there's no need for you to remain. You can come back anytime when you have free time." Nytri snaps her fingers and a portal opens ahead of them. The 2 walk through it and return to Azuria for whatever business Paxius needed them for.
Nytri looks at Kael and the others, "And why didn't you want to leave with them?"
Kael shrugs, "As your first born, I have to watch over the elderly." He walks past Nytri.
Nytri points at herself in confusion, "I'm old?!" she shakes her head, "You're only a few years younger than me!"
Kael grins, "But you're still my mother."
Nytri grits her teeth, "Tch, fine." Kaida and Lilia giggle.
They walk for a while and start to climb the next mountain with ease. At the top of the mountain is a cave with trolls moving in and around it. Nytri and Kael arrive at the top drawing the attention of the trolls. *GRAAAHH!* They roar and more gather to join them. Kael takes a step forward, lightening sparks from his eyes and his hair hardens. He stretches his hand and lightening troll monsters are made before him.
Kael grins, "A little entertainment won't hurt." The lightening trolls he made are exactly like the trolls, the attack starts and the trolls start to die one by one. Kaida, Lilia and Eryndor are planning to sneak into the cave directly for the attack.
Kaida makes gauntlets around her hands and charge into the cave. Nytri notices this, "Kaida, wait! You need to cover your nose!" Kaida enters the cave.
A few seconds later, Kaida comes out covering her nose in tears. "IT STINKS SO MUCH!"
Eryndor appears beside her and pats her back, "There there, you should've taken your time. Here." He brings out a nice scented flower and Kaida breathes it in. 3 trolls run out of the cave charging at the 2.
Eryndor turns to look at them, his eyes light up. "Only these 3 remain in the cave." He stretches his hand to them, "ENERGY ARROWS." EP gathers in his hands and makes 3 arrows above his hand. The arrows fire quickly that the trolls couldn't even notice when they were attacked. The arrows pierce the stomachs of the trolls ripping part of it off, they fall and die. Eryndor and Kaida turns to look at the remaining trolls battling it out with the lightening trolls.
Eryndor smiles, "This is kinda fun." Kaida turns and watch the show. Nytri is sitting on a tree from afar, her sense of smell is stronger than Kaida so she's playing it safe.
Lilia, despite her dark gloomy appearance has a bird sitting on her finger and shoulder. It's baffling how the creatures feel safe around her, Nytri observes and could't fathom it.
"Well, that's all." Nytri lands from the tree, "We should head back now. We're done here."
"Yeah," Kaida speaks, "Let me get parts of them for the guild." She uses energy to rip parts of the trolls off and she puts it in a storage bag they mysteriously acquired after passing by a shop. They start their journey back to the guild, they hear sounds of fighting ahead of them.
"I wonder what's going on?" Lilia speaks, her shadow stretches down the mountain in an eerie manner. "A carriage is being attacked." They haven't yet descended the mountain but the notice the commotion on the path.
Nytri shrugs, "Not our problem." She starts descending the mountain. Her vision moves and she gets a clearer view of the situation.
A luxury carriage bearing the emblem of Mirthendom is protected by guards in expensive armor is being attacked by well-prepared bandits, maybe too well-prepared. It looks more like an assassination attempt than petty robbery.
"She's right," Eryndor speaks, "For all we know, helping them will make things messy for us. I can smell it." Eryndor bends forward focusing on the battle between the guards and attackers, his sense of smell also heightens and he picks up the smell of blood and others.
Kael raises a brow at Eryndor, "You sure you're not smelling pee from the guards?" Some guards let themselves go in the face of death. Kael's vision focused on the commotion but in a different way compared to how Nytri saw them. Nytri saw them as if watching from above but Kael saw them as silhouettes.
Eryndor sniffs, "Hey, you're right. It's pee." He rubs his nose and stops focusing his senses on the carriage.
"Aww," Lilia speaks, "There's a baby there." She hears a baby's wail in the midst of the attack.
Kael shrugs, "So?" He leans on a tree glancing at Lilia.
Lilia stares at Nytri, "We can't just leave a baby to die like this!" she makes a pleading face at Nytri. Nytri looks away trying to avoid looking at her. Lilia clasps her hands together as if praying, "Can you really sleep knowing you left a baby t-"
"Alright alright alright!" Nytri yields, "Let's do this for the baby and a good night sleep." Nytri sighs looking down, memories of her past seems to bombard her of when she was kidnapped.
Kael sighs mumbling, "It's always the younger ones who get their way with mother." He stops leaning from the tree and cups his hands ready to pummel.
Kaida rubs her cheek, "So how do we go about this. We just rush in there and beat the crap out of the bandits or we move like a party?"
"Does it even matter," Kael exasperates, "They're bugs! A serious sneeze will end them and their generations."
Nytri looks at Kael in thought, "He's not wrong, but I think we should be more discrete." Nytri looks at the carriage and starts to run simulations on how to defeat the bandits without being known.
Lilia raises her hand, "I think we should wait then make a dramatic entrance like the heroes of legends." Nytri opens her eyes and looks at Lilia in thoughts, "Wasn't she the one who said to save them? So why let some of them die?"
Eryndor folds his arms, "So we wait till most of them are dead before we help?" Nytri looks at Eryndor surprised.
"Uhhh," Lilia speaks, "Maybe that was a bad idea." She smiles wryly rubbing her hair on her shoulders.
Kaida facepalms, "You think."
Nytri sighs, "Let's just get this over with." She glances back at Kael, "Oh and Kael, no thunders." Kael shrugs and the lightening around his body dissipates. They teleport close to the attack and start to run the rest of the way but at normal human speed, they jump out of the bushes starting the people and they charge.
