Another seven dead. Another settlement erased.
Behind them, a trail of loot glittered in the harsh desert sun.
Whoever encounters it first deserves the rewards.
Arthur's logic was simple. His forces had fought to reach this position. They'd answered his call despite impossible odds. When they followed his trail of destruction, they'd find treasures that could increase their combat power.
One hundred kilometres deep into demon territory. The corrupted desert stretched endlessly in all directions.
The absence of meaningful resistance was becoming genuinely concerning.
Either the demons were completely unprepared for this level of assault, or they were drawing him deeper into some kind of trap.
Or they're not here at all. It's impossible for the demons to know that somebody will retaliate or even have the power to do so.
