Chapter 397: Navy vs. Rockefeller Pirates part 3

Molten magma shot skyward—

and crashed toward the Poseidon.

"Shoohahaha! You're going all out from the start?"

Caesar stepped up, watching the searing mass above.

His body swelled instantly—

transforming into a half-dragon hybrid form.

A massive guandao (polearm) appeared in his hands. With a swing, he cleaved toward the falling magma.

Steel met lava—

the two forces clashed and held for seconds before Caesar's blade pushed through.

The magma, deprived of momentum, cooled mid-air.

Caesar exhaled sharply—

A freezing gust of wind burst from his jaws, rapidly solidifying the molten mass into hardened stone.

"Shoohaha! Is this a birthday candle just for me?"

Caesar turned, mocking the figure in front of him—

Vice Admiral Sakazuki (Akainu).

Akainu didn't respond—

but his dark, grim face said enough.

"Rockefeller Caesar! You bear the blood of criminals—

you'll die here."

His arms turned into molten magma as he charged.

"Hah! Anyone can run their mouth. Show me with your fists!"

Caesar twirled his blade and sent the stone lump flying, charging in turn.

CLANG!

Magma fist met Haki-infused steel.

Akainu's expression darkened—

his arm buckled from the sheer force.

His footing gave way slightly—eyes narrowing.

"Heh! That all you've got? Seems your fists aren't as loud as your words!"

Caesar grinned, but internally, his senses were on full alert.

Observation Haki, Armament Haki—all active.

He parried another magma punch, forced back a few steps.

The heat surged again.

"Hellhound!"

Akainu's extended magma punch roared toward Caesar's face.

Caesar raised his weapon just in time to block—

but was again sent staggering.

"Tch… shouldn't underestimate him."

His face grew serious as he counterattacked, launching a heavy slash.

The duel continued—

fierce and evenly matched, with neither side gaining ground.

---

Garp's eyes were sharp.

He glanced at Sengoku, then at Sakazuki, then toward Aokiji.

Seeing Garp's gaze, Aokiji understood.

"Ah-la-la… So, who's going to dance with me?"

He stepped forward, now directly below Charlotte.

Charlotte had been focused on Garp, but now turned to the voice.

And smiled.

Before he could reply—

"Your opponent is me!"

A crisp voice rang out.

Esdeath leapt forward, toe barely touching the deck.

So fast—

she left behind a shimmering afterimage in the air.

Aokiji squinted at the girl now standing before him.

"Ah-la-la… I don't usually fight women.

But… a pirate's a pirate."

He raised both hands.

"Ice Spears!"

Three icicles formed before him and shot toward Esdeath.

"One fool who underestimated me has already fallen.

You'll be the next!"

"Ice Tempest!"

Esdeath slashed her sword.

The frigid energy wave instantly shattered the ice spears—

and kept charging at Aokiji.

"A swordswoman? That young…

She's definitely the daughter of the world's greatest swordsman."

Aokiji dodged quickly.

He wasn't about to take a slash from a swordmaster head-on.

"You only know how to dodge?"

Esdeath pressed forward.

Another flash—her sword slashed toward Aokiji.

He summoned an ice blade, Haki coating its edge.

"Apparently not."

CLANG!

The blades clashed.

A crack appeared on Aokiji's sword from a single strike.

"Sharp…"

His expression turned serious.

"Time Capsule!"

Frost flowed through his blade, creeping toward Esdeath's arm.

The chill wrapped around her—

but instead of freezing her, it only made her aura even colder.

Even Aokiji himself, wielder of the Ice-Ice Fruit, felt a shiver.

"Ah… forgot you ate the Cold-Cold Fruit.

Should've remembered—you're literally immune to ice."

He backed off, tapping his forehead.

"That all you've got?"

SLASH!

Esdeath unleashed sword aura from all directions.

"Annoying… swordmasters."

"Pheasant Beak!"

Aokiji raised an arm, releasing a giant ice bird.

It tore through the attacks—

shattering air and aura alike, freezing the moisture around it.

CLANG!

Esdeath gritted her teeth. Her blade met the ice bird—

and shattered it.

But Aokiji had vanished—

He appeared behind her.

"Girl, your journey ends here."

"Ice Age!"

His hands gripped her shoulders—

ice crawled rapidly along her body.

"Damn!"

Esdeath's Observation Haki sensed it—

but her body couldn't react fast enough.

"Thunder Wrath!"

A booming voice split the sky.

Lightning crackled above Aokiji.

He frowned.

Tried to dodge—

too late.

A bolt of white-hot thunder slammed down.

Aokiji was blasted away, rolling across the frozen sea.

Smoke curled from his charred coat.

He looked up at the floating figure—

---

The entire battlefield turned.

Everyone looked skyward.

The Lightning-Lighting Fruit.

The roar of its power was unmistakable.

"That's… the mythical Thunder Fruit, missing for centuries?"

Sengoku narrowed his eyes as lightning surged overhead.

"Rockefeller Charlotte's second son—Tesla!"

---

"Big Sis, are you okay?"

Tesla landed beside Esdeath.

She shattered the ice on her shoulder and nodded.

"I'm fine."

He stood beside her, facing Aokiji.

"Two on one, huh?

Not like I mind."

Aokiji's arms iced over—coated in Haki.

"Attack!"

Esdeath didn't hesitate.

This wasn't a duel—it was war.

No need for chivalry.

"Understood!"

"Electric Thousand Birds!"

Tesla's body surged with lightning—

a flock of electric birds formed, surrounding Aokiji.

"Frostbite Slash!"

Esdeath followed, unleashing a vertical arc of sword aura, coated in Haki.

Aokiji responded—

"Ice Shield!"

A glacial wall erupted before him.
