Chapter 400: The Power of the Railguns
While the battle between the Navy and the Rockefeller Pirates raged on—
Aboard the Sea God Poseidon!
Inside the control room, Caesar Clown watched the chaos outside with a cold sneer.
"Navy dogs… Let me show you the power of science!"
Charlotte had already stationed Caesar here before the battle even began.
After all, Charlotte was clear:
They couldn't win this battle.
Why?
Because they were fighting on the Navy's home turf.
Marineford—the Navy's headquarters—was located right near Sabaody Archipelago.
If anything went wrong, reinforcements could arrive within the hour.
If the Fleet Admiral or Zéphyr personally stepped in,
even the mighty Rockefeller Pirates would be forced to retreat.
"It's almost time. The brass at HQ should've figured it out by now.
Fire the signal!"
Caesar turned to the operator beside him.
"Yes, sir!"
A pre-set flare shot into the sky—
BOOM!
A firework exploded high overhead!
Charlotte saw it immediately. His lips curled into a smirk.
He surged forward and engaged Garp directly, cutting off his retreat.
Across the battlefield, the main Rockefeller combatants—
Esdeath, Tesla, Barrett, and Caesar—also intensified their attacks,
completely tying down their opponents.
"Something's wrong!"
Sengoku noticed it immediately.
The flare in the sky wasn't just a signal.
It was a command.
The Rockefeller elites were clearly executing a coordinated move.
"What is Charlotte planning…?"
But Sengoku had no time to ponder. Barrett's barrage kept him too busy.
"Charlotte! What are you scheming?!"
Garp growled, sensing danger.
"Scheming? You Navy started this fight.
I'm just playing along."
Charlotte smirked, his blade pressing ever closer to Garp's vital points.
Meanwhile—
Every Rockefeller crew member not engaged in direct combat began retreating,
falling back toward the Sea God Poseidon.
The Navy tried to pursue, but their path was blocked by mid-tier Rockefeller officers.
"Shurorororo! Navy—taste the bitterness of defeat!"
Caesar slammed his hand onto the activation panel.
ZAP-ZAP-ZAP!
Energy surged through the Poseidon's power conduits.
All 120 railguns mounted on the warship began charging with devastating electricity.
The turrets rotated—locking onto dozens of Navy battleships.
"Fire!"
BOOM!!!
A thunderous shockwave rippled across the sea.
120 railguns released simultaneously,
launching streaks of pure destruction through the air.
The entire battlefield was bathed in a blinding flash.
"No!"
Garp's pupils contracted in horror.
KRAK-BOOM!!!
A devastating barrage crashed down upon the Navy fleet.
Dozens of ships were obliterated.
The ice beneath the Navy cracked and instantly evaporated from the heat.
Thousands of elite Marines perished in a single strike.
"CHARLOTTE!!!"
Garp's eyes went bloodshot with rage.
"Rockefeller Pirates!!!"
Sengoku trembled as he stared at the now-smoldering battlefield.
"Fire again!"
Caesar didn't stop. He slammed the launch panel a second time.
The turrets rotated toward the remaining battleships.
"Damn you!"
Garp hurled his strongest punch at Charlotte.
BOOM!
Charlotte retaliated with a brilliant sword slash.
Their attacks collided in mid-air, creating a blast wave that sent both men flying.
Sengoku broke free from Barrett's clash and tried to stop the warship—
but Charlotte intervened.
"Barrett, that's enough. Our mission is complete.
Reinforcements are on their way—we retreat!"
Charlotte dashed toward Esdeath and Tesla, slicing between them and Kuzan.
"Let's go!"
He grabbed both of them and retreated to the Sea God Poseidon.
Caesar had already shaken off Akainu and flown back.
"Elena, you're up!"
"I've been ready."
Elena stretched out her hands—
Soap Bubbles quickly enveloped the entire 100-meter ship.
As the Navy finally reacted, Charlotte issued the final command:
"Dive!"
With bubbles deployed,
the Sea God Poseidon began sinking into the sea.
Garp and Sengoku could only watch helplessly
as the entire Rockefeller Pirate crew vanished beneath the waves.
"DAMN IT!
I'll chase them down myself!"
Garp turned—
only to see that his own battleship had been destroyed in the bombardment.
"Damn you, Rockefeller Pirates!
Damn you, Charlotte!"
Garp clenched his fists, fury consuming him.
Over 10,000 elite Marines were dead,
along with more than a dozen capital ships.
Sengoku stared in silence, his mind churning.
"Begin rescue operations!
All survivors—pull them out of the water!"
He snapped out of his daze and took command.
Garp followed suit—diving in to pull Marines from the sea.
"Vice Admiral Kuzan has collapsed!"
A cry rang out.
Sengoku's eyes widened as he rushed to Kuzan's side—
the young man's chest bore a massive sword wound.
"Charlotte!"
Sengoku's fury finally exploded.
Cradling Kuzan in his arms, he rushed to Sabaody's docks,
boarding a speedboat and heading straight to Marineford.
From the islands nearby, various hidden observers had watched it all unfold.
"Impressive… Charlotte, I underestimated you.
You really hid your strength well."
Shakky took a deep drag of her cigarette,
then slowly exhaled with a wry smile.
