It felt as if reciting his name lent her an invincible strength.
The night deepened, silence engulfing the outside. Both children slept soundly, the man pacing the room with growing impatience. Every so often, he glanced outside. The woman, worn out, leaned against the wall and started to nod off, their backpack, provisions, and partially consumed water bottles scattered haphazardly.
Footsteps rustling outside caught the man's attention, prompting him to open the door and step out. In a faint voice, he asked, "How's it going?"
"Can't make the pickup on time. Have to delay it until tomorrow night," someone among them responded.
Woken by the noise, the woman followed, complaining, "Wait another day? What if complications arise?"
