On the way back to the company, Fei Yumo hummed a song lightly, the afternoon sun glaringly bright. She sat in the car, rolling the window down slightly.
"Be careful not to be seen, we're still in the city," said the assistant woman driving, with a smile.
"It's fine, let them recognize me if they do," Fei Yumo stretched out her arms, her laughter like the sound of wind chimes.
The assistant shook her head with a smile, knowing that Fei Yumo was speaking nonsense, but she didn't want to spoil her rare good mood.
As one of Fei Yumo's closest people, no one understood better than she the immense pressure Fei Yumo had been under lately.
But there was no solution, was there? It was an experience almost everyone had to go through. For people like them with no background, getting this far was already pushing the limits. To go further, some "sacrifices" had to be made.
She must have come to terms with it herself; this was how the world worked. Inviolable, irrepressible.
