The painter, seizing the moment when the breath broke, lit a flame in each of his hands. One flame hovered before him, while the other dove underground and emerged before the temple master.
Following the flame before him, the painter slipped into a hidden space. In the next instant, he appeared in front of the temple master, his right fingertip pointing forward as a surge of Dao Yan fire ignited on the master's forehead.
"Hah."
The painter blew gently in the direction of the flame, and the Dao Yan fire burned deep into the master's bones. Almost immediately, the master felt his organs filling with searing molten iron, writhing and rolling helplessly on the ground.
The temple master, drained of strength, lacked the ability to resist and could no longer control the City God Taoist Temple.
"Under your command, the City God has been utterly disgraced."
The painter squatted down, grabbed the temple master with one hand, and plunged into the flame's trail.
