Chapter 76 - Chapter 76: The Strange Man (Part 2)

"I'm telling you, you should listen to me—this place is simply not suitable for living."

The man in the suit was driving, glancing repeatedly at the rearview mirror.

He kept watching the expression of the man with glasses, afraid that one wrong word might upset him.

Still unwilling to back down, he started reasoning with him.

It was obvious how much he cared about the man with glasses.

Otherwise, the latter's helplessness in daily life would've been exposed long ago.

Yet the man in the suit still chose to stay with him undoubtedly.

Surviving alone in this world was already tough enough, let alone as a pair.

It was like having to split a single bottle of soda or divide a bun into halves—drastically reducing the quality of life. Even the space inside the vehicle felt unbearably cramped.

Usually, only family members could put up with this kind of situation.

After all, who would willingly live, eat, and sleep alongside a stranger?

Conflicts were bound to happen—frequently, in fact.

If there were blood ties, it might be easier to tolerate one another. After a quarrel, people could still sit down, talk things out, and mend the relationship.

After all, they're family—nobody wants to blow things up.

It would sound terrible if word got out.

But with strangers, it's a different story. They're just temporary allies trying to survive.

Everyone has the right to choose their companions, and most people pick friends with similar interests.

If you keep fighting, there's really no point in continuing. It's often better to call it quits early than to keep dragging it out.

The man with glasses quietly listened to the man in the suit while fiddling nervously with his fingernails, his anxiety written all over his face.

"You've been driving for so long today. Aren't you tired?" he asked gently.

There was no intention to argue—just genuine concern in his voice.

This is the difference between a straight guy and an average boy, perhaps.

It was precisely because of this "domestic partner" vibe that the suited man could unleash his full potential.

That's how he climbed into the world's top 100 players, with his influence steadily rising.

Before meeting the man with glasses, he had only been surviving, barely getting by.

But now, he had ambition. He was improving rapidly.

It goes to show—having someone who motivates you to work harder or study can be a tremendous force in your life.

"We shouldn't rush ahead anymore. We didn't earn anything today."

"If this keeps up, we might run into serious problems. There's not much food left in the RV," said the man with glasses after a long pause, finally voicing his concerns.

Bottling it up would've only worsened his mood.

But the man in the suit brushed his words aside.

"It's only because your leg hurt and you couldn't walk today that we were forced to stop. Everything we're doing now is out of necessity."

"Trust me, okay? I'll see this through. I'll make sure we're the last ones standing. We're going to win this game."

He was confident in his abilities, and now that he had the perfect teammate, he still had hope.

They'd made it through the first round, and the second round didn't seem too hard either. It looked like they had a solid shot at rounds three and four as well.

Though… who knows if things would really go that smoothly?

The man with glasses, whose legs had already turned to jelly, felt even more embarrassed after hearing that.

His face turned red, like a monkey's bottom.

These two could honestly be called soulmates.

In real life, they'd never have met—different ages, different regions, different backgrounds.

By all logic, they should've had no connection at all. Yet the survival game had bound them together.

Even though they both claimed to hate this survival game, they had to admit—without it, they never would've crossed paths.

During the day, the man with glasses had stayed in the RV because of his leg pain and didn't go scavenging.

The man in the suit had ventured out alone, hoping to find supply drops, especially food.

They hadn't had any meat in days. Without protein, energy levels would crash.

Most survivors were barely getting enough to eat—unlike Su Chen, who lived in luxury.

Sadly, today's search had yielded nothing. They'd have to rely on what little was left from earlier days.

The suited man had spent the whole morning scavenging alone and then had to keep driving through the night. He was completely exhausted.

To make matters worse, the environment was terrible. The air reeked of polluted water.

The man with glasses was already in poor health—thin and frail.

Such polluted surroundings were taking a toll on him.

"Bro, take a break. You've been working hard all day."

"I hate seeing you so worn out. I wish I could help, but I can't… I feel so guilty."

"I'm just dead weight in the backseat," he murmured, unable to stop blaming himself.

"It's fine. I'll just drive a bit further—there's a spot ahead where we can sleep more comfortably."

"There's not as much pollution there."

It was already close to midnight.

Their vehicle rolled aimlessly down the road, surrounded by thick underbrush.

After about ten minutes of driving, the car suddenly jolted to a stop.

The suited man got out to check—and discovered a blown tire.

But just as he glanced around…

He caught sight of a luxurious purple RV parked nearby!

"Holy crap, dude! Look what's up ahead!" he shouted, instantly alert despite his exhaustion.

He had nearly dozed off while driving, but the scene before him shocked him wide awake.

What stunned him wasn't just the purple RV—but the camping tents and gear set up around it.

The man with glasses looked up and gasped.

"Wow… this is amazing…"

After being here for so long, this was his first time seeing something so extravagant.

At that moment…

His imagination ran wild.

If only that setup belonged to them—they could cook and sleep there together.

Wouldn't that be perfect?

Just thinking about it made him feel blissfully warm.

The contrast was stunning—he never imagined he'd witness something like this. He had assumed everyone here was simply struggling to survive.

But it looked like this person was on vacation!

He really wanted to see what kind of person this "High-level" player was.

The man in the suit sensed the change in his companion's mood and felt a complex emotion stir in his heart.

Was he… jealous?

Had he fallen for him?

He stared at the luxurious purple RV, his heart full of envy.

The man with glasses, full of excitement, suggested, "Let's go check it out?"

His face lit up with a bright smile.

The man in the suit grew increasingly annoyed—but since the tire was already blown and they couldn't go anywhere anyway, he reluctantly agreed.

They would go have a look.
