Chapter 187 - Chapter 187: The Battle of the Spider God (Part 3)

After the Sea God's death, Fang Chang once again turned his attention to the Asura God. By now, the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger had already sustained significant injuries under his assault.

Were it not for its nearly 500,000-year cultivation and its status as an exceptionally powerful species, it would never have lasted this long. With Fang Chang taking over, it finally had the chance to retreat.

At this moment, the Asura God stared at Fang Chang with an uncertain expression—this creature had just slain a first-level god right before his eyes...

The Sea God was no weakling. As a self-made deity who had forcefully ascended to godhood, his combat prowess ranked among the top even among first-level gods, not much inferior to the Asura God himself.

Yet, despite that, he had been utterly annihilated by this spider.

Fang Chang, however, paid no heed to his gaze. His body twisted slightly in the darkness as "Nightwalker" activated.

Behind him, three near-identical clones split off, and together with his main body, all four vanished into the night.

Seeing this, the Asura God's pupils contracted sharply. He raised his dark-red greatsword and slashed fiercely behind him.

The force behind this strike was immense—the blade sank a finger's depth into the "Fang Chang" before him. Strangely, however, no blood flowed from the wound, and the attack showed no signs of slowing.

The next moment, all four Fang Changs reappeared around the Asura God, attacking simultaneously from four directions.

It had to be understood that his clones now inherited 100% of his damage output and nearly all of his skills. After evolving into the Undying Evil Spider Emperor, the limit on how many times they could be attacked had been removed.

Thus, at this moment, it was as though four god-king-level experts were jointly assaulting the Asura God, forcing him into steady retreat.

From afar, the seven or eight second- and third-level gods had gathered their second wave of attacks. Seizing an opportunity, they launched another assault toward Fang Chang.

A radiant, seven-colored stream of light descended with terrifying momentum, actually blasting one of Fang Chang's clones apart. However, the light then gradually dissipated, returning to a charging state.

Seeing this, the Asura God finally regained some fighting spirit. His greatest advantage was his allies—if he could just hold out a little longer, those second- and third-level gods would eventually land a hit on Fang Chang.

Even if it didn't kill him outright, it would at least create an opening. Then, they could join forces to eradicate this damned spider!

A surge of red light erupted from his body as his aura intensified once more. Though still at a disadvantage fighting one against three, his situation had improved compared to earlier.

Fang Chang observed his desperate struggle, then glanced at Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong, who were still holding their own on the other fronts. A mocking smile curled his lips.

How could he not see through the Asura God's plan? If that was how he wanted to play, Fang Chang would gladly oblige.

With that in mind, he deliberately slowed the frequency of his attacks, giving the Asura God slightly more breathing room.

About a minute later, the second- and third-level gods completed another charge. The seven-colored light descended once more, obliterating another of Fang Chang's clones.

Now, only Fang Chang's main body and one clone remained. The Asura God's pressure lessened considerably as he panted heavily, mustering his divine energy to continue fighting.

Before long, a third seven-colored light appeared. This time, beads of sweat formed on the brows of the second- and third-level gods—such concentrated assaults were clearly taking their toll.

This time, the light targeted Fang Chang's main body. Yet, with an eerie twist, he shifted just enough to evade, then pulled his last clone in front to take the blow.

Boom!

The third clone shattered, but Fang Chang's main body emerged unscathed.

"Huff... huff... Well played, Fang Chang. Let's see what tricks you have left now—"

The Asura God, drained from the prolonged battle, couldn't resist a taunt. But before he could finish, Fang Chang smirked. His body twisted once more in the darkness, and three new clones materialized behind him.

"Asura God, old friend, you didn't think my precious clones were one-time use, did you? After struggling so hard, this must feel terrible, no?"

"You—!"

Shock and fury flashed across the Asura God's face as he abruptly retreated toward the cluster of second-level gods.

"Form up! Don't give them a chance to pick us off one by one."

The Asura God wasn't stupid—he recognized that Fang Chang's combat prowess was an extreme outlier among the gods present. No one or two deities could hope to stop him alone. Their only hope was to unite.

The three gods battling Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue exchanged glances before reluctantly falling back to join the formation.

Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue, being newly ascended gods, were still unfamiliar with divine combat. Though they held their own against the three, they lacked the upper hand.

With their opponents withdrawing, the two women hesitated. But the Asura God's command left the others no choice—they had to regroup.

Now, twelve gods arranged themselves into a twelve-pointed star formation. Vast divine energy surged from their bodies, interweaving as a destructive aura gathered at their center.

"This... What do we do?" Qian Renxue's gaze flickered uncertainly. She had a premonition—if they failed to counter this attack, all three of them would perish.

A strike combining the power of twelve gods, led by a god-king—its destructive potential was unimaginable.

Yet Fang Chang remained calm. He merely tilted his head and said, "No need to worry. I have a plan. Just lend me your strength later."

Closing his eyes, he extended his psychic senses across the entire continent—a perk of his evolution into the Undying Evil Spider Emperor. His mental reach now encompassed the whole world.

Then, a voice echoed in the hearts of every living being on Douluo Dalu:

"Heaven is unkind, treating all life as expendable! Today, the gods descend to destroy our legacy. How can we allow this?"

"As the Spider God, I implore you—lend me your strength! Help me repel these gods and save our world!"

Had anyone else made such a plea, few would have believed it. But Fang Chang invoked the name of the Spider God.

Currently, nearly two-thirds of the continent worshipped the Spider God. To his faithful, his words were beyond doubt.

Coupled with the apocalyptic rift in the sky and the divine battle raging above, his claim held undeniable weight.

The moment he finished speaking, countless golden motes of light began rising from Douluo Dalu.

The first came from the Star Dou Forest and certain oceanic regions—these were Fang Chang's descendants, his most ardent supporters.

Next were other soul beasts across the forests and followers of the Spider God Sect, many of whom owed their blessings to him.

Then, the golden light spread—wider, denser—until the entire continent seemed awash in a golden sea.

An endless stream of faith power surged toward Fang Chang, amplifying his strength. Extending a hand each to Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue, he said:

"Ladies, your assistance, please. Now, witness a miracle."

Dazed by the spectacle, the two instinctively offered their hands, channeling their divine energy into him.

With their power added to his, Fang Chang's preparations were complete. From beneath his outstretched arms, four additional limbs burst forth, tearing through his robes as they formed a series of hand seals aimed at the gods.

"By the power of all living beings—Divine Annihilation: God-Slaying Ray!"

A golden beam erupted from his seals, streaking toward the Asura God's formation.

At the same time, the twelve gods unleashed their attack—a seven-colored light beam three times thicker than before.

The two collided midair. But instead of a cataclysmic explosion, the golden beam overwhelmingly suppressed the seven-colored light, relentlessly driving the point of impact toward the gods.

By now, the Asura God and his allies were aghast. No matter how desperately they poured in divine energy, they couldn't halt Fang Chang's borrowed might.

BOOM!

They had no time to dodge. The golden beam crushed through theirs, engulfing them in an indescribable torrent of energy. One by one, their bodies disintegrated into stardust.

As the last god vanished, the rift in the sky began sealing. The golden beam faded, yet the faith power from below didn't dissipate—if anything, it grew brighter.

Tonight, countless souls on Douluo Dalu witnessed an inconceivable victory. Gods could be defeated—and they had played a part in it.

A new belief took root: Divinity was not invincible.

Somewhere, someone started chanting—"Spider God! Spider God!"—and like wildfire, the cry spread. Soon, the entire continent roared as one.

Douluo Continent would know no sleep this night!
