Morin clicked his tongue in amazement. Observing up close, he could truly appreciate the diversity of aquatic life in the Hunter world.
"Alright, I've caught the fish. How should I prepare them?!" Killua returned leisurely, carrying two fish that resembled long ribbonfish.
"Did you bring them back?" Morin glanced at him and then surveyed the surrounding examinees. There were seventy-one candidates in total, most of whom were present.
Except for Hanzo, who knew exactly how to make nigiri sushi and was hiding away to prepare it secretly, not letting others see.
The other candidates were fervently trying to cook in various bizarre and novel ways. The sight of those dishes... was simply unbearable to look at!!
"Ahem!!" When Morin saw Leorio grabbing a few fish and a large handful of rice, he felt the timing was right and cleared his throat a few times.
"Attention, all candidates!" Morin took out a small megaphone, his voice echoing throughout the area. All the candidates making nigiri sushi instinctively paused their actions simultaneously.
"It's that peculiar candidate!!" Seeing that it was Morin speaking, everyone shifted their attention to him. Morin had left a deep impression on them before. They wanted to hear what this mysterious candidate had to say.
"Do you all know how to truly make nigiri sushi?" Seeing that he had captured everyone's attention, Morin nodded in satisfaction. "From what I see, most of you are clueless, and some are just aimlessly cooking without any purpose."
"What is he trying to do?!" Menchi suddenly had a bad feeling.
"Don't you want to know the real method of making nigiri sushi and easily pass this test?" Morin's words reached the ears of all the candidates.
Everyone was momentarily stunned, and then question marks popped up in their minds.
"You say you know the real method of making nigiri sushi?" The stout, ponytailed Takuto couldn't help but ask.
"That's right!" Morin nodded, "I guarantee it's the most authentic method!! The examiners are right here. They can immediately confirm whether it's true or not. This isn't something that can be faked!"
The other candidates instinctively nodded in agreement.
"If you know how to make nigiri sushi, why aren't you hurrying to make it yourself instead of using a megaphone to shout at us?" One candidate asked, feeling a sudden insight.
Especially Bokur, who was near Hanzo and knew he understood the sushi-making process, instinctively glanced at the hidden Hanzo.
"That's because I plan to share this method with you all." Morin smiled and calmly said something that left all the candidates in disbelief.
"You're saying you want to share the recipe with us?!!" Scar Peng, the snake charmer, Monkey Man Sommy, and Bee Keeper Ponzu, who dealt with animals and insects, all asked in unison.
"Exactly!" Morin confirmed. His words sparked a huge discussion among the candidates.
"Oh ho ho ho?" Hisoka in the crowd instinctively licked his lips.
"Tap tap tap tap tap," Illumi remained in his usual posture, not revealing anything.
"Why are you so kind to tell us the key to passing this test?!" Bokur raised his hand.
Nearby was the hidden Hanzo, and in front was Morin, who was about to share the method. The contrast and division between the two left Bokur feeling unexpectedly intrigued.
"Yes, do you have some other motive?" "We're all candidates, competitors! Would you really help us?!"
"Is there some unspeakable secret or something else here?" "It definitely isn't free; we must have to pay some price, right?!" The candidates were all highly alert and cautious people; they wouldn't believe in such a good thing as a free lunch.
Only Gon looked genuinely happy:
---
"Gon, Leorio, Kurapika, Morin said he's going to tell us how to make nigiri sushi!" Gon exclaimed excitedly.
"That's great! Now we can all pass the test!" Gon continued, beaming with joy. "Morin really is a good person!"
Gon practically handed Morin a big "good person" card with his words.
"Well, if that's true, it would be ideal, but I'm worried Morin might have another agenda," Kurapika said cautiously.
Having witnessed many of Morin's gadgets firsthand, and even being on the receiving end of some, Kurapika maintained a respectful distance and a hint of suspicion towards Morin.
"That's possible," Leorio nodded seriously. "I mean, sharing the key to passing the test for free? That's just not something people do."
"Hey, do you think..." Leorio nudged Kurapika with his elbow and whispered, "Do you think, given our relationship with Morin, he might tell us the method for free?"
His greedy and opportunistic nature was something he couldn't change overnight.
"Killua, you seem a bit upset, and... uh, I don't even know how to describe your expression. Is something wrong?" Gon asked, concerned as he looked at Killua's pale and complex expression.
"I'm fine," Killua shook his head slowly, his gaze fixed intently on Morin in the center of the room. "I just want to see what he's really up to..."
Menchi shared the same sentiment as Killua. When Morin announced he would share the sushi-making method with the other candidates, she had one thought in her mind: Is he crazy?! What is he trying to do? Is he trying to completely ruin this test, or what?!
Menchi felt that the situation was slipping out of her control.
"Tsk tsk, as expected of a candidate specially noted by Chairman Netero. His thoughts and actions are far beyond my expectations... and Menchi's too," Satotz mused, leaning against the doorway, watching the scene unfold.
He couldn't help but comment on the unfolding events, especially Morin's unexpected plan, which left him in awe.
"First, there's the peculiar dish of 'nigiri sushi,' and then there's this unexpected move by candidate 406. It seems Menchi, who is often considered difficult and hard to deal with, has finally met a new challenging opponent."
His mustache twitched slightly, clearly showing his growing anticipation for the developments to come. His interest in the unfolding drama was only getting stronger.
Inside the factory, amidst the murmurs of the crowd, Morin picked up the megaphone once more.
"Yes, I have my own reasons for telling you how to make nigiri sushi," Morin declared.
As expected, the candidates' eyes reflected a sense of understanding mixed with a hint of wariness. Their initial doubts and suspicions were slowly fading away.
"My purpose for doing this is actually quite simple," Morin said, a smile slowly spreading across his face. "It's just for fun!!"
The candidates were taken aback by Morin's unexpected answer, unable to grasp his intentions. But seeing the smile on his face, they knew he was up to something they couldn't comprehend.
"Seems like we might not have to pay any price to get the method?" The thought crossed the candidates' minds.
