Following what dad said I went to work today in high spirits. Dad's words comforted me to an extent. Even if mom did not know, it made me have a bit of hope. That this was going to work out. These were my thoughts as I got to work.
From the opened window blinds, it seemed Jared was at work already when I got in. It turned out I was right, I saw him the minute I got to my chair which was a clearer view.
He didn't notice me come in so I sat on my seat checking out outfits for Claire. Since Halloween was fast approaching I had to search for outfits.
"What are you doing?" I put the phone's screen face down at the sound of the voice only to see Jared staring right back at me.
"How's it your business?" I blurted almost immediately"Are those for her? Calculate the total, I'll pay." he said instantly.
"No thanks."
