Lane knew he was in trouble. He realized it the moment he stepped out of the elevator on the 122nd floor and noticed the plastic bag hanging from his door handle. There was a plastic box with sweet, handmade pastries inside, and a note from Damien, [Eat it when you're back.]

Fighting monsters in the dungeon, it was so easy to lose track of time, especially since his phone had died some time ago. Lane didn't realize just how late it had gotten…
But still, he thought it would be fine. Damien had said that he might not be back until morning, so even Lane had stayed A BIT too long, leaving the dungeon around 3 AM, he thought he might be able to get back home before Damien.
Well, clearly, he had been wrong.
