The office was engulfed in silence.
Carson entered from outside.
William Franklin sat alone, sipping brandy, deep in thought.
Carson's arrival interrupted his contemplation.
"Boss," Carson respectfully handed a document to William.
William leaned back on the sofa, taking the document from Carson.
The document's content caused the deep furrow between William's brows to grow increasingly enigmatic. He set down his glass.
"Boss, I've finally figured out why Miss Foster got back together with Mr. Scott. Should we send this document to Miss Foster immediately?" Carson asked.
William's expression darkened, and he remained silent.
Carson knew William was weighing his options and waited patiently for his instructions.
After a moment, William spoke, "No rush... Kingsly Scott is a shrewd man. I need to wait for Rachel to find a way to see me on her own."
"But Mr. Scott's people are with Miss Foster around the clock..."
