"Looks like we made it."
"Yeah…it's a bit odd though."
"What makes you say that?"
"Look ahead."
Iris reached forward and pointed to what seemed to be a panel on the ground. The stone setting seemed off to say the least to the two, though they moved closer to inspect why something of the sort would be there. Dante bent over to let Iris off of his back, she seemed to have gained her energy back from the small rest she got. Dusting herself off and looking around, she moved closer to the panel to inspect.
"I don't have the guidebook on me, but if I remember correctly…this may be a summoning stage."
"What's that…? Did we learn about that?"
"Well, not yet. Since we're not even permitted to be down here, though I do know since my mother used to search for these during her time as an adventurer."
"Interesting…"
Iris pointed at the structure and explained what its purpose was in being in dungeons such as this one.
"Typically, finding these within a dungeon is one of the main goals of a dive. Usually adventurers will look for these in hopes for great drops for rare materials based on the monsters spawned…though I wouldn't be too sure what monsters would appear."
Iris began to approach the panel cautiously, looking over the detail of the panels closely, as she knew that certain markings could signify which monsters would spawn if touched. She looked at the center before noticing a familiar sigil.
"This sigil…the summon will be a pack of ice wolves! Just like the targets from the guide, though…why would they spawn here? Shouldn't they be a few floors up?"
"I'm not too sure, but their materia was a requirement wasn't it? I feel good enough to go a round with some wolves."
"I'm not too sure if that's a good idea… we should just wait here…"
Dante looked at Iris with a face of disbelief. He knew waiting would be the practical thing to do, but the opportunity to get the materia they were searching for, and the possibility to work some more on their teamwork couldn't be more present than now.
"I think we should, I mean who knows. Maybe we could get some extra reps in, our teamwork seemed to be pretty good back there."
"Well, we didn't have much of a choice there…"
"Yeah, but now we do. If you're not up for it, I'll do this one myself."
"N-no! I'll help, though I don't think it's the best idea…"
Dante glanced back at the sigil, seeing with every step he took the light from it would glow brighter. His steps filled the area's silence with taps on each panel. Iris followed behind him with her wand drawn. Dante watched for her facial expressions, seeing that her worried face had changed to one of determination. He smirked as they arrived at the panel which covered their way out of the area.
