Chapter 91 - Ema Fights For Her Life

Takemikazuchi, feeling the immediate threat from Aphrodite immediately changed the topic. He stiffly raised his hand towards Ema, clearly he was going for a handshake.

"Hello, my name is Takemikazuchi, the Shinto god of storms. Nice to meet you." He spoke stiffly while cold sweat rolled down his brow.

He clearly wanted to run away from a certain someone whose gaze was 'definitely NOT' boring holes in through his body. Seeing the sight before her, Ema was now heavily doubting that this was the god that would train her.

But as an experienced person that met countless beings throughout her existence. She cleared her mind of any forming opinions and grasped his hand. "Ema, now let's train".

Like her husband, she immediately wanted to start the training process. In both their minds times was off the essence, they both knew that they did not have the leeway to take things easy.

A little surprised by Ema's rush he turned to Aphrodite, shooting her a questioning look. His face was screaming, "Is she serious?"

All Aphrodite could do at this was nod with a reluctant look. They both knew that his training was on another level, though this was completely dependent on the individual.

An example would be if two gods are undergoing this training. If for example, god A is reluctantly trained with him, the consequences could be dire. Due to the nature of his regiment, god A's soul might be harmed in the process.

A damaged soul could result in weakening the god until it manages to repair it. This sounds simple right? Wrong! If the soul of a being is damaged, they would feel existential pain coursing through their entire existence.

If you think that repairing the soul is simple, you too are extremely wrong. The souls of each individual being varies, even if a god specialising in healing were to help you, there is still a chance that you would be further harmed.

What that god would essentially do is perform surgery using massive amounts of the patient's power to coax the soul to heal. If the god uses too much power, the soul would be damaged.

If too little is used, it would be needlessly tiring a dying god. This factor alone already increases the chances of that god dying.

If an arrogant god simply thinks that all that would happen after 'dying' would be a long slumber until he reawakens, it would be right.

Only that due to essentially losing part of their soul, their overall power will decrease in proportion to how much of their soul was discarded to mend the overall soul.

This alone made Takemikazuchi's training infamous. But if one manages to go through his whole training, they could massively improve their base power and proficiency.

There is a limitation to this seemingly amazing result less the horrid consequence of failing.

It was simple, one cannot train someone who is stronger than them. Takemikazuchi still recalled the days when Atlas would bug him constantly to train him.

As a titan Atlas possessed immense innate power, but if they were to come to blows, Takemikazuchi would win. Barely but a victory is still a victory.

Why would he win? It was simple, he developed various techniques to deal with multiple situations. Like Atlas, he fought in countless wars though the difference is that he was constantly testing himself against stronger opponents.

A good example was Yamato No Orochi. That yokai was practically immortal. He had to fight it for months on end just so his pantheon could seal it in Jigoki (Japanese hell).

While Atlas kept fighting gods weaker than him which resulted in his eventual defeat. What is stronger a naturally strong being or someone that can utilise a hundred percent of their strength? The answer is clear.

He gave Ema a serious look while grasping her hand harder. The useless mood from before almost seemed like a fever dream now.

"I need you to be completely sure, if you fail you will most likely die and become useless. Are you prepared for that outcome?" Takemikazuchi's words rang out throughout the entire courtyard.

This deadly seriousness emphasised the consequence of Ema's next decision.

Seeing his look, Ema eyes flashed with power, squeezing his hand back harder. "I am prepared." Her face was the picture of a determined wife.

"I will succeed... NO! I will succeed." Her determination was so strong now that it practically caused an involuntary smile to crack across the god of storms' face.

"Well then, it is time to fight like your life depends on it." He let go of her hand and teleported them to his training grounds.
