Chapter 244 - Chapter 244: Siege

Earth's outer space was packed with an overwhelming number of warships, hellish demons, and the massive form of Dormammu, whose sheer size obscured the sky.

Yet, contrary to expectations, their assault on Earth was not progressing as fiercely as anticipated. Despite their relentless attacks, the planetary shield remained unbroken, only rippling slightly under the barrage.

On the Moon, the Skrulls and Kree were left in stunned silence. Such advanced technology was beyond anything they had imagined. And those two beings—stronger than even Thanos—who were they?

"This is bad!" General Kallruth suddenly cried out. "We need to evacuate immediately!"

The others quickly realized the danger. The attack had come too suddenly. With the Moon's proximity to Earth, if the invaders couldn't break through Earth's defenses, they might turn their attention to the Moon instead.

"The teleportation array to the Mutant Academy is ready at any moment."

Titan's planetary defense system had an automatic identification function, ensuring safe teleportation for their own forces back to Earth.

On Earth, military representatives from various nations had gathered in the Azeroth Technology Tower, watching the bombardment above. While the defenses held firm, a sense of unease lingered among them.

Pietro, however, remained nonchalant. "These guys aren't that tough. Maybe they'll just give up and leave soon."

Before he could finish his sentence, Dormammu turned toward the Moon, unleashing a colossal beam of violet energy. It struck the lunar surface, sending up vast clouds of dust and debris.

Dormammu, alongside Thanos and his forces, had already identified several cities on the Moon. Seeing that Earth's defenses were holding strong, they commanded their troops to shift their assault toward the lunar colonies.

Watching the unfolding chaos, General Kallruth wiped sweat from his brow. Thankfully, they had managed to evacuate their personnel to Earth in time—though the Inhumans had yet to retreat.

"Move quickly, this way!"

The Moon trembled violently. The Inhuman city had not been directly hit, but the relentless bombardment was causing deep fissures to spread across the surface. The protective barriers set up by the Kree were failing, their outer camouflage beginning to fade. Many fell into the widening cracks beneath them.

In one corner of the palace, a towering obsidian gate loomed. A face emerged from its surface—an Inhuman.

"Activate the portal to Earth! We need to leave immediately!"

"Understood, Medusa."

One by one, the Inhumans stepped through the shimmering portal, arriving safely on Earth.

"Boom!"

A brilliant flash of light illuminated the sky. Before their eyes, the Moon shattered into countless fragments.

Their home of nearly a century was gone, leaving the Inhumans in silent grief.

"Enough mourning. We need to find Black Bolt." Medusa's voice rang with determination. "We should also seek help from the Mutants. They will aid us, despite our past conflicts."

With the Moon obliterated, the three cosmic warlords turned their attention back to Earth.

Thanos muttered, "How could Earth's defenses be this formidable? Other than technology from the Watchers or the Celestials, I can't think of another explanation."

"Hmph, they won't hold out much longer." Dormammu observed the planetary shield weakening with each passing moment. It was only a matter of time before it collapsed entirely.

"Allow me to speed things up." Mephisto, eyeing the billions of souls on Earth, expanded his form into a colossal, hundred-meter-tall demon. Red lightning crackled from his outstretched hands, striking the planetary barrier.

Deep within the control center, the Star Dust Core began to dim. The immense energy it held—equivalent to an entire star—was being rapidly drained.

Dr. Wim, monitoring the situation, dared not reveal the truth to anyone, though his heart pounded with anxiety.

...

Sakaar.

Star-Lord's ship hovered above the once-thriving gladiatorial world. The towering colosseum stood cleaved in half, its ruins littered with corpses of various species.

"I didn't expect this place to be reduced to rubble too." Having heard of Thanos' impending invasion of Earth, Star-Lord and his crew had set course to intercept him.

"Thanos!" Drax clenched his fists, his impatience palpable. "What are we waiting for? I'll tear him to pieces!"

Rocket, ever the opportunist, sought an excuse to delay their departure. "Maybe we should think this through. Charging in blindly is suicide. And hey, a destroyed city like this? Must be full of valuable loot. You guys really don't want to cash in?"

"We agreed to take down Thanos! Now you're backing out?" Drax reached for Rocket's fur, earning a snarl in response as Rocket pointed his blaster at him.

"Enough! Look up—someone's here." Star-Lord pointed toward the sky as a spacecraft streaked across the atmosphere.

Gamora immediately sprinted toward their ship. "Let's follow them."

The Milano's thrusters roared to life as they pursued the unknown vessel.

The newcomer was Garus. Witnessing the devastation of Sakaar only fueled his urgency to return to Earth.

From his seat, Howard the Duck suddenly squawked, "Hey, buddy! We've got a tail."

Garus glanced at the ship's display and instantly recognized the pursuing vessel—the Milano, piloted by Star-Lord.

Adjusting his course, his ship's engines flared with blue fire as he approached the nearest wormhole.

The Milano followed suit, their communication channels linking up. Seeing Garus aboard, the Guardians were surprised.

Star-Lord was the first to speak. "Mr. Garus, what are you doing here? Thanos is attacking Earth as we speak…"

"I know," Garus responded grimly. "Which is why I need to get back immediately." He reignited his ship's engines. "It's time to remind Thanos that Earth is my territory."

Gamora's eyes narrowed. "Thanos is after the Infinity Stones. If he collects them all, one snap of his fingers could wipe out half the universe. We can't let that happen."

"Other than the Time Stone, all of them are already in my possession. If Thanos wants them, he'll have to take them from me." Garus exuded confidence. A Celestial-tier Thanos was hardly a concern to him—but the two warlords aiding him were another matter.

"You found the Soul Stone?" Gamora's shock was evident. Only she and Nebula should have known its location.

Before she could press further, Garus' ship surged forward, disappearing into the wormhole.

"Follow him!" Star-Lord shouted, gunning the Milano's engines.

Emerging from the wormhole, the two ships arrived near Earth—only to be met with utter chaos. The Moon, having lacked a proper defense system, was now a shattered asteroid field. Earth itself was completely encircled by enemy forces.

"Mephisto, Thanos… and Dormammu?!"

Garus' eyes widened. The colossal forms of Dormammu and Mephisto loomed over the battlefield.

"How the hell did they get here?"
