The sun peeked through the horizon, dyeing the sky in the hues of gold, amber and violet. Lariette and Ruediger lay tangled under the blanket, keeping the cold at bay by sharing warmth.
Ruediger was the first to stir. Seeing that the clock had turned six, he smiled at the sleeping Lariette. As usual, he brushed his lips over her face.
"Wake up, my dear sleepyhead."
Once Ruediger's soft kisses awakened her, Lariette stretched, letting out a small hum. Rubbing her drowsy eyes, she asked sleepily, "Mmm... we're going to the cafe, right?"
"Yup," Ruediger replied, voice still thick with sleep, "Come on. Go and get ready."
Lariette chuckled as she slipped out of bed, heading to the washroom. Ruediger made the bed before going to his bedroom. Recalling what he hadn't done last night, he stripped the sheet off the mattress, ready to do laundry.
