Chapter 192 - 192: New Subordinate

"Fine, but I'm already as good as dead—bringing me back is your problem now..."

Boros replied without hesitation. In order to match Kizaru's strength, he had burned through his long lifespan in one go.

That gave him Meteor Burst, an overwhelming surge of power beyond his limits—but even that wasn't enough to defeat Kizaru.

Fortunately, Boros didn't really mind. What he pursued was never just victory. As long as his opponent was strong enough to give him a satisfying fight, he was content.

"Lifespan, huh? Let's try pure gold first…"

Kizaru held up a piece of pure gold and compared it to Boros's giant eye, but no matter how he angled it, he couldn't find a good spot. He scratched his head, frustrated.

At this point, Boros had nothing left but his eyeball. What was he supposed to do, embed the gold directly into that?

"My race is born with the ability to manipulate energy. As long as I have enough of it, I can regenerate my body."

Guessing what Kizaru was trying to do, Boros spoke up on his own. Death wasn't something he feared—but if there was a chance to keep living, especially if it meant getting to fight Kizaru again, he wasn't about to say no.

As for becoming Kizaru's subordinate? Others might feel humiliated, but Boros truly didn't care. He only formed the Dark Matter Thieves to find stronger opponents across the universe.

"Energy, huh?"

Kizaru stroked his chin, then casually fired a beam of light onto Boros's giant eye.

As the endless energy surged in, the eyeball-only Boros began regenerating his body at an astonishing rate.

However, since he had already burned through all his lifespan, the regenerated body was weak and withered, like a dried-up husk of rotting wood.

But once Kizaru embedded the pure gold into Boros's forehead, his body surged back to life like a withered tree catching spring, rapidly returning to its original form.

"A treasure that extends lifespan… but now this thing is basically my weak spot…"

Boros touched the pure gold on his forehead. Without any visible action, it quietly melted into his body like a drop of water disappearing into the ocean. No one could tell where he had hidden it.

For Boros, whose lifespan was already gone, the pure gold that extended his life had become his greatest vulnerability. If it were ever removed or destroyed, he'd die instantly.

"A true warrior born for battle... instead of celebrating immortality, you're more concerned about gaining a new weakness, huh…"

Kizaru shrugged. Sadly, the only thing he had on hand that could save Boros was this pure gold—everything else was either too slow or too unreliable.

"A long life is only worth it if it means meeting more powerful enemies. Isn't that how you see it too?"

Boros asked righteously. For someone who spent 20 years traveling just to find a worthy opponent, immortality really wasn't anything worth getting excited about.

"Maybe. But can you still use that lifespan-burning move of yours?"

Kizaru didn't argue with Boros's ideals—he was more interested in whether the pure gold allowed for a kind of cheat code.

Even after defeating him, Kizaru had to admit that Boros in his Meteor Burst state was truly terrifying—definitely deserving of his title as galactic overlord.

"Of course I can… but using it would still mean instant death."

Boros clenched his fist experimentally. This was his first time regenerating an entire body—his first time ever being beaten this badly.

Thankfully, he wasn't the vengeful type.

If it had been Kizaru instead, he probably would've written ten full notebooks planning exactly how to get revenge in the future.

"So in other words, it's useless!"

Kizaru sighed in mild exasperation. Honestly, this was the first time he'd met someone as unrestrained as Boros. If he had to compare, it reminded him a bit of Garp.

But Garp's devotion to justice wasn't nearly as pure as Boros's obsession with battle. If Boros had been in Garp's position, he wouldn't have cared about consequences.

The first time he saw a Celestial Dragon commit evil, he would've just smashed them to pieces with a single punch.

"No matter. After witnessing your strength, I've found a new purpose... So, what do you want me to do next? Wipe out the natives rebelling against your rule? Or go conquer other planets?"

Boros flexed his hand, confirming his regenerated body felt no different from before, then asked, barely hiding his eagerness.

He had just gone all out against someone like Kizaru, and now his craving for battle was sated—for the moment. So he didn't mind handling some chores he usually would've found beneath him.

"I'm not some cliché villain! First, we'll test whether you can travel to other worlds. Technically, since you're not human, you should be able to…"

Kizaru opened the dimensional chat group, and just as he expected—even with the entire world frozen in time, the dimensional chat and other worlds remained unaffected.

[Kizaru: Anyone willing to help me run an experiment?]

[Random user who wants to cling to Luo Feng's leg]: Me me me! What's Lord Kizaru planning now?

[Borsalino]: Ahem, I wanted to test something Orochimaru mentioned earlier—whether the chat group can accept species that look human but aren't actually human.

[Kobayashi]: Huh? I don't quite get it. Kizaru-san, could you explain a little more clearly?

[Random user who wants to cling to Luo Feng's leg]: It's simple, right? Just send over someone who's not human—I get it...

[Random user who wants to cling to Luo Feng's leg]: Wait a sec! Don't tell me it's a monster?!

[Orochimaru]: Unfortunately, I've already asked Miss Fubuki to help test that. Those monsters who used to be human still get classified as human by the chat group.

[Borsalino]: Not a monster. It's Boros.

[Random user who wants to cling to Luo Feng's leg]: Oh okay, that's fine, send him over.

[Random user who wants to cling to Luo Feng's leg]: Wait what?! BOROS?!?!?!?!

[Orochimaru]: Heh. If I remember right, Boros is that suspected god-level galactic overlord you mentioned before, isn't he?

[Orochimaru]: Impressive. Did you capture him alive, Borsalino-kun?

[Kobayashi]: God-level… sounds terrifying.

[Random user who wants to cling to Luo Feng's leg]: HOLY CRAP! Kizaru-dono don't play around with me! My scrawny arms and legs can't take this kind of chaos!

[Borsalino]: Relax, he won't go berserk... hmm, you guys don't really have anyone strong enough to catch Boros' attention, right?

[Random user who wants to cling to Luo Feng's leg]: That's the problem! Please, I'm begging for mercy!

[Haibara Ai]: If you're sure he won't cause trouble, you can send him to me. I doubt a galactic overlord would be interested in a world full of ordinary people.

[Orochimaru]: If possible, remember to save me some research material.

[Borsalino]: I'll ask him for you—if he says no, not much I can do… @Haibara Ai Thanks. I'll send you a gift later.

[Haibara Ai]: Just don't forget your promise to help me return to normal.

[Borsalino]: Of course I remember. I'll take you to Ain later—her Return-Return Fruit should be able to restore your body.

---

Borsalino spaced out a little, but Boros didn't think much of it. He was the kind to go with the flow and didn't care what others were doing.

"Alright, it's settled. You'll stay with her for a while. Don't cause any trouble—she's my partner."

Borsalino said to Boros.

There was still some time before he could return to the One Piece world, and it wasn't ideal to leave Boros lingering in the One Punch Man world.

Not because Boros might hurt someone—but because he might try something suicidal, like challenging the Bald Demon King. Borsalino had finally gained such a powerful underling and was hoping Boros could at least stick around a while.

"Oh? Your partner? How strong is she?"

Boros looked intrigued. In his mind, anyone qualified to be Borsalino's partner must be no weakling.

Maybe he'd warm up with her before taking on Borsalino himself.

"Super weak. Just an ordinary person. Her entire world's full of people you could wipe out with a single breath."

Borsalino rolled his eyes. To be fair, not everyone in the Conan-verse was a total weakling—but even the strongest among them, like that so-called "S-class" Kyogoku Makoto with strength rivaling Captain America, wouldn't even qualify as cannon fodder to Boros.

Even if characters from crossover mystery series showed up, it wouldn't matter. A random grunt from Boros' alien fleet could stomp through Haibara Ai's world like Piccolo on a rampage.

Still, that didn't mean Haibara Ai was useless to Borsalino. Her research skills—and APTX-4869 with its age-reversing "side effect"—were highly valuable.

Even with Pure Gold on hand, it was impossible to mass-produce a true anti-aging treatment. Meanwhile, stabilizing the "side effect" of APTX-4869 made it potentially more valuable than Pure Gold.

"Tch, boring. Can't you send me to a world full of strong fighters instead?"

Boros looked genuinely disappointed. Unlike Esdeath, who enjoyed both battling the strong and crushing the weak, Boros was only interested in real power.

If it were Esdeath, she'd find satisfaction either way.

"Sure. Once someone from the Dragon Ball world joins the group, I'll send you over. You can wrestle Saiyans every day!"

Kizaru made the promise casually.

After he explained to Boros what a Saiyan was, the previously reluctant alien actually seemed fairly satisfied with the arrangement.

To fight the warrior of prophecy, he had endured twenty years of loneliness aboard his ship—spending a little time in a different world was nothing in comparison.

Soon after, Kizaru submitted a transfer request to Ai Haibara and sent Boros over as if he were an item.

As it turned out, Orochimaru's hypothesis was correct: Boros, not classified as a human by the chat group system, was transferred successfully into the world of Detective Conan.

"Hello, I'm Ai Haibara. Welcome to this world."

Staring up at the nearly 2.5-meter-tall alien with a single massive eye, Haibara—who barely reached his thigh—couldn't help but twitch her lips.

Kizaru never mentioned that this guy was being sent over in fully operational condition!

She'd assumed Kizaru had subdued him first—maybe not chained up with all limbs broken, but at least with some kind of limiter to keep him in check.

Instead, what arrived was a fully active, very much unrestrained "Galactic Conqueror." Thank goodness she hadn't prepared any research equipment yet—otherwise, she might have been responsible for the end of the world.

"Do you know where I can find Saiyans?"

Boros asked seriously. Ever since Kizaru's explanation, he'd become fascinated by the Saiyans, a warrior race that sounded an awful lot like himself.

The thought that a whole race out there in the cosmos might be modeled after him thrilled him beyond belief.

"…Huh?"

Haibara had not expected the first words out of an alien's mouth to be… that.

Back in the One Punch Man world, Kizaru nodded with satisfaction after confirming Boros had arrived safely, and then released his time-stop ability.

"So, the fight's over?"

Genos tried hard to make out what was happening in the sky. Both Boros, in his Meteoric Burst form, and Kizaru, at full strength, were so overwhelmingly powerful that even S-Class heroes struggled to keep up.

They couldn't tell who was winning—only silently praying that the final victor was Swift Flash.

"Who won?"

Bang rubbed his eyes fiercely, but the blinding light in the sky was too much.

Ironically, they were closest to the battlefield and yet saw the least, their proximity making the spectacle almost impossible to watch.

"Swift Flash! Swift Flash won!"

Using his advanced observation equipment, Drive Knight was the first to get a clear view. In the sky, only Kizaru remained, his brilliance now dimmed.

That terrifying galactic overlord, Boros, had vanished.

Normally stoic and composed, even Drive Knight sounded emotional.

"Impossible! Lord Boros can't lose! This is fake! It has to be fake!"

Groribas, still restrained by telekinesis, let out a panicked shriek. His gelatinous body trembled uncontrollably, like he'd seen something truly horrifying.
