In the middle of a dark but lively forest, a woman could be seen laying in the grass under a tree. Her hair was white as snow, her skin matching, however beneath the skin hundreds of grey lines could be seen, each one was a vein or an artery. She looked ill, grave to be exact, however her breathing was steady, as if she had been put to sleep and placed under the large tree that was towering over her. As some time passed, a noise could be heard in the forest, too loud and clumsy to be an animal; however still she slept. The crunching of grass and the cracking of twigs and sticks got ever closer to the sleeping form until the source of the noise stood above her. It was a man, about six foot four. inches tall. His long hair was white with streaks of a light orange and blue running through it sporadically. In fact, they almost seemed to be moving. As the cascading hair moved, his face could be seen. He had lightly tanned skin, which made his pale smile lines stand out more. He had a small nose which gave way to his white eyebrows. However, his eyes were the main show stopper. They were stunning. His irises were like two miniature suns and almost seemed like they were glowing… No, they were glowing. They started out as a lightish orange on the outside but became a dark blue towards the middle, with the area surrounding the pupils being a light blue. As he looked down upon the woman's form, he reached his slender hand out and shook her, but to no avail. So he decided to shake her some more and say something to try to rouse her from her slumber.
"Oi, woman, get up. This is my sleeping area. I was here first so get up!" He said almost yelling towards the end, the annoyance in his voice was palpable. He had just found this tree the other day, and it was perfect for his midday naps. As he kept shaking her, she eventually started to wake up.
"Wha- huh?" Her voice slipped between her pale lips. It was smooth like the flow of a creek and had a languid feel to it.
"You. Are. In. My. Spot." The man who was shaking her said with a forced smile, his annoyance turning into anger as he basically spelled out his sentence.
"Ughhh… My head… What's going on? Who are you?" The woman replied as her eyes fully opened. Showing her amethyst irises, which were full of confusion and pain.
"... Why do I always have to deal with the stupid ones?" The man sighed to himself before continuing.
"Look Lady, my name's Dias. I don't know who you are, but I'm really tired and you're in my spot, so could you please move your happy ass out of it?"
The woman looked at Dias in even more confusion before noticing that she was in an unfamiliar forest. 'What is this idiot talking about?' She thought as she unconsciously moved over to the side, freeing up the man's 'space'.
"Uhhh, nice to meet you? My name is Alex, Alex Lunaris… Where exactly am I?" Alex said slowly, still trying to find her wits.
"What is this-" Dias started to curse but stopped himself before he could fully get it out.
"What do you mean 'where am I?'" His confusion grew with each word that came out of this evidently crazy woman's mouth.
"How do you not know where this is? What, did you just show up here today? This is a forest bordering Nara, a city in the Holy kingdom of Natalis, on the continent of Kalios. Where else would we be? Arcadia?"
"The Holy Kingdom of Na-Natalis? Nara? What even is Kal- Argh…" Alex started before pain struck her head again and some information started flowing into her brain. It was information regarding the continent and this world. Then it hit her. Where are her other memories? As panic set in and her breathing hasted to the point of hyperventilation, she kept drawing blanks. She had no memories of her past or who she was. She couldn't remember her parents, her home. All she had was her name.
"Uhhh… Lad- sorry, Alex, is… everything okay?" Dias said, hesitantly reaching out his hand and putting it on her head, a little worried that the lady who had just stolen his napping spot was going crazy.
"Wh- Who am I?" Was all Dias could hear as she kept muttering the same thing over and over again. 'Right… Okay… She's definitely insane… Gods above, why me?' He thought while lamenting to the gods at his apparent fate of drawing crazy people to him. Half in fear of the consequences of stopping and half wanting the woman to just stop crying, he attempted to help calm her down.
"Heya kiddo, it's okay… you're safe, okay?" He said as he gave her a slight hug to help ground her, which seemed to calm her down. As she looked up. Her eyes glimmered with the sign of tears and she burst into tears.
"Hey, hey… Let's not cry, okay? I'm sure it'll be fine, yeah? Please stop crying. This shirt is like brand new." Dias hated when people cried. It was even worse when they cried on his shoulder. However, he just stayed there listening to the woman sob her heart out, as he wasn't mean enough to push someone who was crying and in distress away. After what seemed like hours had passed, Alex finally managed to calm down and put herself together. She felt someone's arm around her and she realised that the strange man, Dias, as he called himself, was hugging her. This realisation caused her to recoil back slightly and almost slam into the tree behind her.
"Whoa there kiddo, don't be so quick, you'll get yourself hurt, or even worse, you might hurt the tree." Dias said, catching her before she actually slammed into the tree. He had a slight smile on his face at her antics. As he caught her, Alex's stomach let out a growl like it hadn't seen food in years. Which caused Dias to laugh like someone had said a funny joke. It was infectious, causing Alex to laugh alongside him.
"Alright, how about we skip the nap for today and get you some food? Does that sound good?" Dias said, still chuckling. He stood up and reached out his hand to Alex, his smile lighting up his shadowed face.
"Yeah that sounds good… Thank- Thank you Dias." Alex says, taking his hand and standing up herself.
