Nasya's POV
Zayn's smile vanished in an instant, a flicker of anger passing through his eyes. Yet I didn't avert my gaze—instead, I met his stare head-on.
We stood locked in silent confrontation for several tense seconds before Zayn was the first to break away. He turned to leave, but I followed him into the hallway.
"Wait." I shut the door behind me and called after him. "Austin was arrested by The Bureau of Lycan Affairs. Was it you? Did you leak the information?"
Zayn turned back, his expression unreadable, but his green eyes burned with quiet fury.
"You think I deliberately tipped them off to get him arrested?"
His voice was low, each word I swallowed hard, suddenly acutely aware of how alone we were in this hallway.
