Victoria was shaken when she felt the approaching footsteps, followed by the voices of those men. They were letting out a ruthless aura, and she had to admit, it churned her stomach. Feeling Brian's hold around her did make her feel safe, but at the same time, she was equally concerned for him.
"We are not dying today." She had seen him mouthing, but she was about to freak out when two men were about to set their hands into the bush. Right then, Brian turned on the alarm of his car parked at Victoria's house, in a way that diverted their attention. Brian was more than grateful that he had brought the keys with him.
"Now stop wasting your time and get back to the damn car. We only have tonight to take down Layla Mclan!" Brian and Victoria were left petrified hearing the leader's words. Soon enough, they left the scene; however, neither of the two could sigh in relief—in fact, their mood worsened.
