Chapter 109 - Forced

Is 'God' aware of me and what I look like, or is it just my presence drawing him here? I don't remember. But I've displayed no feats which should draw his gaze from the moon. Like fighting Boros or Cosmic Garou.

Maybe his final, true vessel is sealed away, sitting in the fetal position within the Moon, and he needs to gather enough sacrifices akin to or greater than Orochi and also break the Dimensional Seal before he can inhabit it? But if that's so, then how could he be watching from the moon? From the vessel?

There are too many retcons and fan theories jumbled together in my mind. I'm getting nowhere…

Once I grab the 'Mysterious Cube' I—

"Hey!"

"Dammit woman! Can't you see I'm busy thinking?" Caspian glared over at the hovering Gyoro Gyoro. "My morning hasn't been that great. It's best you leave."

Turquoise aura flared around Gyoro Gyoro. "Y—"

"Ah! See, getting interrupted is annoying. My memory is fuzzy, but you don't feel any pain if your meat puppet gets destroyed, right? And Tatsumaki won't be coming here, so feel free to use that 'Elixir' of yours."

Caspian plucked the trembling Manako from his shoulder and set her down.

"Be a good girl, Psykos, and maybe you'll get a treat later."

Caspian wasn't sure if that was her meat puppet shaking or nodding, but he decided it was close enough.

Adjusting his perception, the world surrounding him stilled. Strolling across the underground tunnel to Gyoro Gyoro he sent out a few thousand finger jabs into the meat puppet before making his way back to Manako picking her up and moving her outside the range of the falling stones overhead, he then returned and grabbed the 'Mysterious Cube' before returning to Manako's side.

With a thought, the world returned to its normal speed through his eyes. Manako leapt in shock as Gyoro Gyoro was vaporized from one direction while all the stone chunks, created by his earlier move, fell from the other side.

He first brushed the 'Mysterious Cube' against one of Manako's horns, then pulled it tight against his chest with one arm. Looking down at her tear-filled eyes, he brought a finger to his lips and signaled for to be quiet.

"'Two at once… Unusual.'"

Manako's tears streamed down.

At least I'm not at fault this time around. 'You' made her cry and for that alone you shall f…

'God's' full-toned, otherworldly voice permeated their minds. "'Allow me to see if you are deserving vessels to bestow my power upon.

Place your hand upon that box and make a fervent wish.

If you are a worthy vessel, you shall receive power from it.

If not…

You shall face forfeiture.'"

Blast floated in the caliginous dimensional space surrounding Earth, maintaining his vigil at his post, guarding the Dimensional Seal — while also hunting down 'Mysterious Cubes,' and monitoring for any signs of Empty Void's whereabouts.

Today proved unusually calm. Only a few parallel worlds required purging of 'God's' newborn vessels. But despite cleansing these threats, the sources themselves remained elusive, slipping through his grasp like shadows.

The source being the 'Mysterious Cubes.'

Earth's ancient guardians had left behind crucial knowledge. As their latest successors, Blast's team combined these remnants of knowledge with their own findings to uncover more truths regarding the 'Mysterious Cubes.'

'God,' though his spiritual form had been locked away by Earth's most ancient guardians innumerable years ago, could send fragments of his prison, 'God's Cage,' as 'Mysterious Cubes' across realities. These fragments acted as conduits: allowing him to interact with those who touched them... and those simply within their vicinity.

That is why Blast must secure and contain them — to excise 'God's' ever-expanding tendrils and thwart whatever other unknowable ends he pursues.

Time bled faster than he could react. 'God's Cage,' long eroded by eons spent restraining 'God's' impossible might, decayed further each time the Dimensional Seal took damage. The cycle fed on itself — each crack in the seal weakened the Cage, which in turn allowed 'God' to fling even more 'Mysterious Cubes' into the endless sprawl of parallel worlds.

The cause behind the hastened erosion of 'God's Cage' whenever the Dimensional Seal sustains damage remains a mystery. Although, one of Blast's squadmates offered a troubling theory: that 'God's' true physical vessel may lie hidden somewhere within this Earth's three-dimensional plane. If true, the vessel could act as a tether — linking the 'God's Cage' and the Dimensional Seal through the 'Gate of the Celestial Rock Cave,' a lone passageway located in the backwaters of void space. When opened, the Gate provides direct access to the dimension housing 'God's Cage'.

No matter how plausible or implausible the theory, concrete proof still eluded them as not a single trace of the alleged vessel had been found.

Leaving this Earth's significance unresolved. Among infinite parallel worlds, what other anomaly could exist here? One capable of summoning 'God's' fervorous fixation.

Blast's pupils dilated as an all-too-familiar sensation sparked through him. There!

Psykos slouched back on her couch, dumbstruck. Gyoro Gyoro had perished in an instant with no forewarning.

How? She had measured the power level of that man and his strength was no different from an ordinary human. Psykos realized King must have snuck up from behind.

Nothing else was going right, either.

All of her plans for the cities were anticipated and neutralized before they could take effect.

Orochi appeared to have been pretending to be under her control at some point and is now a looming threat.

Fuhrer Ugly, Gale Wind, Hellfire Flame, Gums, Do-S, Black Sperm, Overgrown Rover, Nyan and too many others to bother listing were either dead or ignoring her attempts at communication.

"The Monster Association won't be around once the Hero Association arrives… I-I won't allow my years of work, struggle, and sacrifice to go up in flames!"

Psykos sat up and lifted her hand, using her Psychokinesis to pull an item from the table behind her into her hand. Seeing the hourglass-shaped bottle topped with a domed stopper with the word 'Elixir' engraved around its middle, she felt a weight lift from her shoulders.

"It's not over yet. Evil Natural Water is about to be released. The other intruder is certain to run into it.

Regarding King and him, the one who kidnapped Manako. I do not believe Homeless Emperor is fit for the task.

I will personally torture that man for his insolence."
