The next morning when they woke up, they saw Alex dead in the floor murdered cold blooded. Five noble men who are in support of Alex decision and who also sees Alex as their own brother, carried Alex into their room and the witch was also there.
All of them inside the room were in deep thought because they don't know the particular people that betrayed them. While they were inside, the leader of the group who killed Alex gathered many of the villagers and told them that he will be the one to lead them and he also said "Alex betrayed us, he brought strangers, our enemies into our homes to destroy us" while he was saying that the people murmured to his hearing and they was noise everywhere but he didn't bothered convincing them.
Alex was stabbed many times and he was clearly dead, they were inside the room with Alex corpse when one of their brother ran quickly and came. He told them that Alex was killed by Corbin, they became furious and asked the witch if he can bring back Alex to live but she said she haven't tried that before and that would be risky to try.
They persuaded her before she finally agreed to give it a try, she picked a knife and cut Alex hairs and brought a bowl of water which she used to wash Alex hair. She poured the water gently to his hair and she started her incantation, meanwhile john told them that they should continue trying their best and he also told them that he will go and inform the people of winterfell that Alex was killed. Robert which was also inside the room told him that he should be careful while he takes his leave and he shouldn't allow anyone to spot him and John nodded as a sign of approval and he left, the witch continued to try all the spell which she could remember but they were no positive result.
Corbin and his men came to the front yard of room which Alex was laying, they tried to open the door but it was locked and they informed the brothers that was inside to join his crew so that they would be saved, but Robert pleaded for time so they can think about it which Corbin accepted and told them that they only have few minutes to think and he also told them that if they is no response they will attack.
The witch continued her casting spells but it wasn't working, after some time Corbin shouted and said "do you accept to join our crew or be killed" they was no response. They were only four men in the room, they all picked their swords and was ready for battle. When Corbin was getting closer to the door so they would break it, John arrived with the people of winterfell and Corbin was out numbered. When Corbin saw that his men wouldn't be able to challenge the people of winterfell he left without saying a word, the witch tried everything she could to resurrect Alex but there was no outcome at all so she gave up and went outside and three of their brothers left also and when the fourth one also wanted to live before Alex started making movement and he rushed to him and called the others.
They were all happy seeing that Alex is alive, he couldn't move that time because he was severely injured and he was given some time to recover. The next day he was feeling stronger a little, so he ordered some of his men to arrest the people that murdered him. It was an hard decision for him to make, he didn't signed to execute his own people but he has no choice.
They were all hanged including the young boy that runs errands for Alex, it wasn't easy for Alex to execute his own people but that was his only option, they might attack him again if they were not killed so Alex executed them.
He was pained that he have to give up the position which was given to him by Arnold, he removed his black coat of authority and handed it over to John. He told John that he is a bad leader for executing his own people and he should lead the people in a good manner, John wanted to reject the offer but Alex told him that he has already made his decision and there is no going back, at this point John had no other option but to accept it and he hugged Alex and tears rolled down his cheeks.
The books Arnold secretly took from the library he didn't returned it that day, he continued looking for the location of the dragon stone. On a fateful night while Arnold was doing his researches, he came across a map and he studied the map very closely and carefully. He later discovered that the dragon stone is located inside a great mountain at the city of Eragon, he also wrote a message quickly to Alex telling him what he found doing his research.
When Alex received the message from Arnold he was with some noble men from the village, he read the later out to there hearing but when he mentioned that the stone was located in Eragon they became afraid. Because the late king of Eragon which they called the mad king killed the father of Arnold and since then they have been enemies.
That's a huge risk for Alex to take, going to Eragon is a matter of life and death, he might be killed or taken as a prisoner but Alex decided to risk his own life by traveling with his closest friend to Eragon it was also a suicide mission but it was the only way to defeat the dead walkers.
The next morning they woke up and started preparing to take their leave, though many people advised him not to go but that was his only chance to get the dragon stone. They don't stand a chance to defeat the dead walkers without the dragon stones.
