Chapter 19 - CHAPTER 19

Aurélia walked back to her house, her mind reeling from the mysterious encounter with Isaiah again. She was growing feelings for Isaiah, but she couldn't confess them, not with her own issues looming over her like a dark cloud. The trouble she was trying to avoid was getting entangled in a complicated situation with Isaiah's family, particularly since she was Asher's best friend and at the same time he was Isaiah's brother, and their strained relationship would only add fuel to the fire. Moreover, Gabriella's possessive love and potential meltdown would be another mess together.

She walked upstairs to her room, freshened up, got a cup of coffee, set an alarm, and lastly got her laptop. She sat on her bed as she opened her laptop, her mind kept wandering back to Isaiah. Having so much on mind, she decided to take a nap instead, but her dreams were filled with images of Isaiah's piercing eyes.

The next day, Aurélia met up with her friends Lila and Asher on campus. Lila noticed the change in Aurélia's demeanor and couldn't help but question her. "Aurélia, what's going on with you? You've been acting strange since last weekend," Lila asked, her voice laced with concern.

Aurélia tried to brush it off, but Asher's eyes narrowed, suspicion etched on his face. "Yeah, you've been distant lately. Is everything okay?" Asher's gaze lingered on her, and Aurélia felt a shiver run down her spine.

Meanwhile, Isaiah pulled Gabriella's hand, steering her towards a quiet corner of the campus café. "Gabriella, I think we need to talk," he said with a gentle voice. Gabriella's eyes sparkled with anticipation, but Isaiah's next words would dash her hopes.

"I'm not interested in pursuing anything romantic with you," Isaiah said. "I think we're better as friends." Gabriella's face fell and she started questioning their break-up. "Why do you want to breakup with me all of a sudden? Am I that bad to you? I'm the one who should decided if our relationship ends, not you. We've barely spoken since last time, you ignored my messages and calls, and... and you're telling me it's over? You even have guts to say that we become friends. I'm wondering what changed?"

Isaiah replied, "Gabriella, I don't appreciate your attitude and the way you speak about others." Gabriella shot back, "Oh, I thought you liked that about me and you are the same." Isaiah's expression remained firm. "I'm sorry, Gabriella but we've reached the end. I have someone I truly love, and she's so special to me. I'm sorry but you've to accept the truth."

Gabriella's eyes welled up with tears as she begged Isaiah not to let her go. But Isaiah's response was cold calculated again, "I'm so sorry but you've to let go, Gabriella. Our relationship wasn't that genuine. I don't think everyone knew everyone's interests." he said his words hanging in air like a challenge.

Gabriella's face contorted in anger and sadness as she processed Isaiah's words. "Who is it?" she demanded her voice trembling with emotion. "Who's the lucky girl who's stolen your heart?"

Isaiah's expression remained calm, but a hint of a smile played on his lips. "That's not important right now," he said gently. "What's important is that I've made up my mind, and I think it's best if we go our separate ways."

Gabriella's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with possiblities. She knew Isaiah's friends, his interests and his habits. She was determined to figure out who the mysterious girl was.

As the conversation came to a close, Isaiah stood up, his expression firm. "I hope you can understand and respect my decision," he said, his voice polite. Gabriella nodded in sorrows, her eyes flashed with determination. She would find out who the mystery girl was, and she would make sure Isaiah knew what he was getting himself into. She agreed to let Isaiah go but not leaving him not until she knows the girl and ruin her.

Meanwhile at Aurélia's home, her mother and her little brother arrived home. For a long time, they are back and the seemed a little bit different. It was as clean as if nobody was leaving in. Bringing with the them a sense of warmth and love. Aurélia's mother walked to her room and also told Alison Aurélia's brother to unpack his belongings to his room. She felt welcome and comfortable in her house.

Aurélia's phone rang, interrupting her conversation with Lila and Asher. She excused herself and answered the call. "Hey, Mom," She said warmly.

"Hey, sweetie! I just wanted to let you know that your brother and I are back home," her mom replied. "How's everything going at college? Is everything okay? I don't want to ask you a lot of questions since you are also coming back. So, take care of yourself, dear."

Aurélia smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. "Everything is fine, Mom. Thanks for checking in," she said before hanging up the phone.

Aurélia hastily bid farewell to her friends Lila and Asher, her mind racing with the sudden interruption. "Guys, I'm so sorry, but I really need to go. My mom just called, and I have to get home," she said, barely giving them the chance to respond before turning to leave.

As she stepped out of Oakwood University, the warm sunlight hit her face, but her attention was immediately drawn to a sleek black Mercedes Benz parked by the curb. Her heart sank as she spotted Isaiah leaning against the car, his piercing gaze locked onto hers. She quickened her pace, hoping to avoid him, but the car crept alongside her, it's tires rolling smoothly on the asphalt.

The Mercedes suddenly veered infront of her, and Aurélia's eyes widened in alarm. "Do you want to kill me?" she exclaimed, her voice shrill as she pointed at the car's hood.

Isaiah emerged from the driver's side, a charming smile spreading across his face. "Come on, my princess," he said. "Let me give you a ride home."

Aurélia's eyes flashed with annoyance. "I don't need your help," she retorted, her voice firm. "I'll walk myself home. Besides, we're right outside Oakwood. What if someone sees us?"

Isaiah's smile never wavered."I don't care,"he replied, his eyes glinting with determination. "If you refuse to get in, I'll jus have to pick you up and put you in myself."

Aurélia met Isaiah's gaze, her heart pounding. Aurélia refused Isaiah's offer and turned to walk away, her heels clicking on the pavement. But before she could take more than a few steps, Isaiah swooped in and scooped her up into his arms. Aurélia let out a startled yelp as he tossed her into the car, her protests and complaints falling on deaf ears.

"Put me down! What are you doing?" Aurélia demanded, her voice rising in indignation. Isaiah simply chuckled and closed the car doors, locking them with a satisfying click. Aurélia's eyes widened in outrange as she realized she was trapped. "You can't just kidnap me!" she exclaimed, pounding on the window.

Isaiah slid into the driver's seat, a grin still plastered on his face. "Oh, but I can," he said, starting the engine. "And I just did." Aurélia's face turned red with anger as she realized she was at his mercy.

As the car pulled away from the curb, Aurélia's anger turned to frustration. She crossed her arms and pouted, refusing to look at Isaiah. But he just chuckled and reached out to gently brush a strand of hair out of her face. "Don't be like that, my princess," he said with a soothing voice. "I'm just trying to take care of you."

Aurélia's eyes flashed with annoyance, but she couldn't help the tiny spark of pleasure at his touch. She looked away, trying to harden her heart against him. But as the car drove through the streets, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was in trouble.

They approached her neighborhood but Aurélia's anxiety grew. What would her mom think if she saw Isaiah dropping her off? Would she suspect something was going on between them? Aurélia's mind racing with questions and thoughts, but before she could voice them, Isaiah spoke, "Don't worry, I'll walk you to the door." Aurélia hesitated and then she replied."It's okay Isaiah, I'll walk myself to the door and I don't think this is the right time to answer my mom the questions she will ask if she sees you with me."

"Okay, I'll head back at my home." Isaiah said his tone sarcasm. Aurélia looked at his sad face, she pinched him on his hand. "I didn't expect you to pinch me. You really hate me that much?" Isaiah said, his voice low. Aurélia pulled his hand closer to her, and initiated him with a passionate french kiss which made Isaiah to have butterflies in his stomach. "I want more Aurélia, your lips are really tasty on mine." Isaiah whispered in her ear. "Silly boy! Good bye, head back at your home." Aurélia said sending him a flying kiss as she walked to her house.

Isaiah smiled and felt like this was such a blessed day for him. He never knew that from the hatred they had with Aurélia things would turn out amazing.
