Because of these malicious bastards, my perfectly comfortable life keeps getting turned upside down.
Ignoring the Hunter Organization members currently having their clothes stripped off by security, Ash lay grumpily on the grass staring at the sky after being shot at by A. Meanwhile, Lyn considerately let Ash rest his head on her lap, much to the visible frustration of the Gardevoir watching nearby.
"Gardevoir! (Too slow!)"
Pikachu, Meowth, and Chansey could only pat Ash comfortingly as they saw him like this. Lyn, who knew the inside story, looked at this seemingly unstoppable boy who always managed to solve every problem with both heartache and helplessness.
Misty quietly asked Meowth, "What's going on?"
Meowth glanced at Ash, then pulled Misty, Suzy, Brock, even Gabby and Ty aside before explaining. "This is about Boss '06—it's not that he doesn't care. After all, we've been traveling together for so long. As for the reporters over there, I'm telling you this so you understand the Boss's hardships. When reporting on the previous battles, don't make it sound like it was all about the money."
"Don't worry, we still have this much professional integrity!" Gabby nodded understandingly when Meowth said this.
"Sigh, actually this isn't the first time the boss has been shot at. You could even say it used to be a regular occurrence..."
Everyone was surprised to hear Meowth say this. They truly couldn't imagine someone of Ash's status encountering such things.
"Ah, ordinary people indeed wouldn't be able to get close to the boss... but what if it's family?"
No way.
As a journalist, Gabby immediately understood Meowth's meaning, and what shocked her even more was that someone would actually target a child—especially a relative.
"Think about it—Boss and Mom Delia almost never mention their relatives. That alone speaks volumes. In those relatives' eyes... if something happened to little Ash and Mom Delia in Pewter City, well... you know how League laws work..."
"Wait, that doesn't add up. If that were the case, they'd get arrested too."
Hearing Ty's confusion, Meowth shook his head and said, "Are you underestimating the boss's wealth? Trust me, those riches are enough to keep them alive."
From Meowth's words, Misty and the others sensed boundless malice. It was hard to imagine how Ash and Delia hadn't turned to the dark side under such viciousness.
"Luckily, back then the boss had Delia-mama and Lyn-neechan with him, and Delia-mama had the boss by her side, so everything turned out fine. Otherwise, the old lady probably would've gone full yandere by now."
"So is Ash okay now?"
Seeing Ash resting with his head on Lyn's lap, Misty looked worried. But Meowth just waved his paw dismissively. "Oh, that? The boss is just taking advantage of the situation to cop a feel. The old man's always had a thing for Lyn-neechan's thighs."
The five of them only realized something was wrong upon hearing this. When they took a closer look at Ash's side, they realized his current expression while lying on Lyn's lap showed absolutely nothing amiss. In fact, he even wore a smug grin of successful scheming!
"Lyn's thighs are so comfortable, huh."
Feeling Ash's thoughts, Gardevoir glanced at Lyn's thighs, then looked at her own slender calves. In a bad mood, she sat down to the side.
"Gardevoir..." (I lost...)
Meanwhile, Lyn, who had been observing Ash's expression, could only smile helplessly before quietly watching her unreliable husband.
"Ash:"
"Hmm?"
"You should probably get up now. After all, that comfortable smile of yours is making me want to punch you more and more."
"I'm lying on my wife's lap—no one can say anything about that! And my smile just means I'm comfortable, doesn't it!"
Click.
Officer Jenny, who had already drawn her gun when A attacked Ash, set her weapon aside and looked at Ash seriously, saying, "Though it's not the best time to interrupt, we should probably wrap this up now."
Seeing that Officer Jenny had already given him so much time to take advantage of the situation, Ash could only sigh and stand up, saying, "Alright. Security team, bring those stripped-down guys over here."
"Yes!"
As A and the others were being carried away, A looked at Ash with a pale smile and said, "Our leader will come for you. The leader is nothing like me—you'll regret crossing the Hunter Organization."
"Oh, how loyal. Well then, goodbye, A. Or should I say... farewell."
After being carried away, Ash asked Arbok, "How long until the delayed-action toxin mixed in this Acid attack takes effect?"
"Arbok!?"
"Officer Jenny. After that, A will definitely die."
Hearing Ash's words, Officer Jenny had heard enough. As for the death of this A—when it came to dangerous individuals like this, the Jenny family often turned a blind eye. After all, sometimes... it takes a villain to deal with a villain.
