Now this... this is a really good haul.
I've got two Potara earrings, which means fusion is now on the table. Either I fuse with someone else or fuse two others together. I don't see that happening anytime soon, but it's a powerful option to have in the vault.
And now, I've got all the elements from Avatar: The Last Airbender. That's earth, fire, water, and air. I'm practically the Avatar—well, almost. I still don't have Raava. Makes me wonder: once I get her, will I start reincarnating like the real deal?
Then there's the V Compound knowledge. I can literally create people with powers now. Everyone gets a power-up. And if someone ends up with a trash power? I've got All For One—I'll just snatch it away. I'm absolutely going to abuse that power.
Oh, and thanks to Douglas Davenport's knowledge, I can make people bionic. So if anyone on the team ends up with a useless or unstable power, boom—cybernetic upgrades. Clean, efficient, and powerful.
The Nikyu Nikyu no Mi? That's a gem. I can teleport people anywhere I've been before, send out shockwaves, and literally remove someone's pain. Massive utility in and out of battle.
Flawless is going to be clutch. Seeing a few seconds into the future? That's game-changing. Whether I'm in a fight, hacking a system, or navigating a tough convo—I'll always be three steps ahead.
Usopp's lying ability... yeah, probably only works on gullible or low-IQ types. Not top-tier, but might be fun in the right moment.
Kitty Pryde's intangibility is way more useful. Perfect for infiltration, dodging attacks, or just flexing on people when I casually walk through walls.
The dinosaur knowledge—no clue when that'll come in handy, unless I stumble into the Savage Land or decide to build a Jurassic Park.
Now, about the bad apples...
Stormfront and Firecracker. Racists. One's literally a Nazi, and the other one… yeah, I'm pretty sure she's into minors. Absolutely not joining the main team or stepping foot on the main base. But they're still somewhat useful—I'll stick bombs in their heads and throw them to the Black Ops team. Straight-up Suicide Squad style. Disposable assets, nothing more.
But I did pull some serious firepower too:
Tracer from Overwatch—quick, loyal, heroic. Angela's probably going to flip when she sees her, even if she's from a different reality.
Siegfried, the Dragon-Blooded Knight. One of my favorite heroic spirits. Strong, noble, and with the heart of a true warrior. A perfect addition to the core team.
And last but not least... a freaking Bewilderbeast. Not just any dragon—the Alpha from How to Train Your Dragon. One of the strongest dragons out there. And now I have one. As. A. Pet.
Now I just need to name the big guy...
But one item had me scratching my head: the magic shotgun.
"Hey, System," I said. "Can you explain the magic shotgun?"
System:"Certainly. The magic shotgun is a very simple item. It's a powerful shotgun with infinite ammo. Only the host can use it, unless the host willingly transfers ownership."
"Oh, that's actually pretty cool," I said, leaning back. "And I already know exactly who I want to test it on."
Before I could finish the thought, Ashley and Yuriko walked in.
"Oh good, you're finally done with the paperwork—and with time to spare," Ashley said with a sly grin. "You've got just enough time to pick out a suit for the New Year's party."
"Right... the New Year's party already." I stretched my arms. "Feels like Christmas was just yesterday."
Christmas was great. Everyone was on the island—except Escanor. He spent the holidays with the Runaways, which makes sense. They're basically his kids now. He even brought them gifts. I gave him one too—a battle axe. It's not exactly like the one he had in his old world, but it's made of adamantium, so it's definitely stronger.
I gave gifts to everyone. Especially Stratos—this was his first Christmas. The look on his face while opening his presents? Priceless. Ashley and I both took tons of photos. I'm pretty sure she's using one as her lock screen now.
"Yeah," I said, standing up. "Finally done. Is everything ready for the party?"
"Of course," Ashley replied confidently. "I've got the food, the waiters, the bartenders, the band—and I already sent out the invitations to everyone in the company, our investors, and the people you told me to."
"Perfect. Now all I need is a tux... and maybe a plus-one. Hate to show up solo."
"You should ask Sabrina," Ashley said, casually. "She doesn't really leave the island much. Might be a good opportunity for her to socialize a bit. I've only talked to her a couple of times, but she seems like a really good person."
I thought about it for a second—and yeah, she's right. I mean, sure, Sabrina does have friends like Annie, Kimiko, and now Wanda, but she rarely ever leaves the island. The only time I can actually remember her going off was to see Escanor. I have no clue if she's going to say yes or no, but hey—no harm in asking.
"You're right. I'll ask her if she wants to be my plus one," I said.
"Good. Oh—and don't forget, you will be giving a speech later at the party, so please tell me you're at least almost done with it," Ashley said, giving me that look.
"Of course I am. You think I'd forget something like that?" I said confidently.
I had absolutely forgotten. I'll just wing it when the time comes.
"Yeah, that's what I thought," she said, clearly not buying it. "Anyway, I'm going to go get Stratos ready for the party. He's going to look so cute in his little tux."
"I'm sure he will. Now I gotta go get mine—and ask Sabrina. Later!" I said before teleporting to Sanctuary.
I appeared in my room and immediately made my way to the closet. I had plenty of tuxedos, but I quickly picked out the one I liked best and set it on the bed. The party was only a couple of hours away.
After laying the tux out, I left my room and headed straight for Sabrina. I already knew where she'd be—she spent most of her time there, in the space I'd built just for her.
The library. Yes, I'd built it for her. It wasn't exactly filled with magical books yet—mostly regular ones, but she seemed to enjoy the collection. She especially loved the Book of Shadows. I'd watched her pour over that book, learning a lot of useful spells. Part of me wanted her to go study magic with someone like the Ancient One, but I wasn't sure how she'd react to the idea. After all, she wasn't from this world.
Still, I couldn't help but hope my next Gacha pull would give me something special—maybe another spell book or, better yet, someone who could teach her about the mystical arts.
I arrived at the library and spotted Sabrina sitting comfortably in a recliner chair, absorbed in a book—though not the Book of Shadows, just some regular reading. Her coffee cup sat on the table beside her, steam still rising from it. I made my way over to her.
"You seem cozy. All you need is a fireplace," I said, grinning.
She glanced up at me and chuckled lightly.
"I would love that, but I'm afraid some idiot might set the place on fire," Sabrina replied with a smirk.
I raised an eyebrow. "you say idiot, don't you mean—"
I didn't finish the sentence.
"Ted," Sabrina said with a knowing look. "I feel like he could somehow start a fire in here, and not even on purpose."
I laughed, completely agreeing. Somehow, I could picture Ted doing something like that, completely by accident.
"Do you need something?" Sabrina asked, shifting in her chair.
I shook my head. "Not really. I just came to ask if you want to come with me to my company party."
She raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Really? Why?"
"Well, me and Ashley thought you could use a little fun. You haven't been off the island much, so we figured it might be a nice change of pace."
Sabrina seemed to consider it for a moment before responding.
"Okay, I'd love to come, but... I don't have a dress."
"Don't worry about it. You can ask Church to order you one. The party's in a couple of hours, so there's plenty of time to buy one and get ready."
"Okay," Sabrina agreed, her smile growing a little wider.
After our conversation wrapped up, I left the library and headed outside the sanctuary. I took off into the sky, flying to a secluded part of the island where few ever went. It was a large area, close to the sea—perfect for what I had in mind.
Once I landed, I looked around, satisfied with the quiet surroundings.
"System, summon Bewilderbeast," I said, focusing on the task.
A brilliant flash of light erupted before my eyes, and when it faded, there he was—Bewilderbeast, towering and majestic.
"Man, you look cool," I said, eyeing the Bewilderbeast as it stood proudly in front of me.
He really did look impressive, and I couldn't help but think how useful he would be when I eventually took over Genosha. He'd make sure no one could escape the island or hide behind their shields.
"Sorry, big guy, I can't really think of a name for you just yet," I added, a little sheepish. "But don't worry, later on, I'll come up with something for you."
The Bewilderbeast made a low noise, though it didn't sound angry—more like a gentle acknowledgment.
"Hey, to make it up to you, I promise I'll make sure the name is a cool one," I said, giving him an apologetic smile.
He gave a subtle grin, or at least, I thought he did.
"Feel free to make your nest here, but don't swim away from the island," I added with a chuckle.
He nodded, understanding. I flew up to get out of his way as he began to unleash his ice breath. He wasted no time, quickly shaping a nest for himself.
With everything in place, I flew back toward the sanctuary, leaving him to his work.
I flew back to the sanctuary and made my way to the training room. I wasn't planning to summon Stormfront or Firecracker just yet, but I did want to bring in Tracer and Siegfried. When I arrived, the room was empty, which was exactly what I was expecting.
"System, summon Tracer and Siegfried," I said, focusing on the task.
A bright flash of light filled the room, and when it faded, both of them appeared. Before I could say anything, Siegfried immediately bowed down.
"Hello, my new master. How may I serve you?" Siegfried said, his tone formal.
I was caught off guard for a moment, but I quickly recovered. I guess it made sense—he was used to being summoned and probably accustomed to the idea of serving whoever called him.
"Siegfried, you don't have to bow to me," I said, stepping forward. "I'm not your master. I'm the one who summoned you, but you're not a servant."
He stood up, looking at me in surprise.
"I see," he said, his voice softer now. "Then why did you summon me here, if not to be your servant?"
"I summoned you both to help me," I replied. "I know you're both heroes, and that's exactly what I need."
Tracer, who had been silent up until now, grinned. "Oh, that's a relief. I'm a hero and an excellent pilot."
"I know who you both are," I said, glancing at them. "Not personally, but I've heard of you."
"Church," I called out.
The AI appeared instantly.
"Wow, you have an AI?" Tracer said, raising an eyebrow. "Haven't seen one of those in a while."
"He's not the only one I have," I replied. "There are more, but Church... I need you to get Mercy and tell her to come here."
"On it," Church responded and disappeared in a flash.
Tracer's eyes widened. "Wait, Mercy's here? Is anyone else from Overwatch here?"
"Sorry, no. She's the only Overwatch agent I summoned so far, besides you. And there's a chance she's not even from your exact world—she might be from a different reality than yours."
"Multiverse theory..." Tracer muttered, rubbing the back of her head. "Winston talked about that sometimes, but I never quite got all of it. I usually zoned out and fell asleep."
I chuckled. "Exactly. That's how my power works. I can summon people from different multiverses here to my world. Can you tell me what happened in your old world? Maybe I can figure out if you're from the same reality."
Tracer nodded, her expression serious. "Okay, so my team and I were just on a simple mission, but then Omnic started attacking us. We've taken down hundreds of them, no problem, but these new ones were different. They were way more powerful and copied our unique abilities—my blink, Winston's berserk... It was insane. The last thing I remember was being cornered by two of them. I was out of power, and... they killed me. Then I woke up in a white void, and I was given the chance to live again. I said yes... and now I'm here."
I nodded thoughtfully. "That sounds like some serious trouble."
I turned to Siegfried. "What about you? What brought you here?"
Siegfried's expression was thoughtful. "I was in the Throne of Heroes when I felt the summoning pull. I just appeared here, and that's why I assumed you were my new master."
Siegfried's situation seemed simple but Tracer's world? That was a whole other mess. Omnic enemies that could copy abilities? It sounded like something out of X-Men: Days of Future Past, with those Sentinels hunting mutants and eventually the human race. Honestly, I should probably have a chat with Dr. Bolivar Trask soon. I needed to convince him that making robots to hunt down mutants—and eventually everyone else—was a terrible idea.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when Mercy walked into the room. The moment she saw Tracer, her face lit up, and without a word, she rushed over and hugged her tightly.
"Tracer!" Mercy said, voice filled with relief and joy. "I can't believe you're here!"
I watched the reunion quietly for a moment, before deciding it was best to give them some space.
"You two have a lot to catch up on," I said, glancing at Siegfried. "I'll leave you to it. Siegfried, follow me. I want to show you to your living quarters."
Siegfried nodded, following me as we left the training room. I led him through the sanctuary, taking the time to show him where he would be staying. I advised him to take a few days to adjust to this new world. There were a lot of things for him to get used to, and I wanted him to feel comfortable before we moved forward.
After showing him his quarters, I returned to my room. The party would be starting soon, and I had to get ready. I went to the closet and picked out my tux, getting dressed quickly and making sure everything was in order. Tonight was going to be an important night.
