The ringing from the gunfire faded quickly, swallowed by the ambient hum of the cathedral's corrupted air. The Demon of Faith didn't even flinch. It tilted its head toward Leo and Lily with a jerking motion, as if tracking sound rather than sight. Several of its mouths began to whisper again, low and overlapping in a grotesque lullaby.
Leo narrowed his eyes and raised a hand. A faint shimmer flickered across his irises as the system window opened before him.
