The purple-black mist quickly filled every corner of Qian Xunji's chambers.

"You still deny being a Dark Spirit Master? Such sinister energy, such overwhelming killing intent—this isn't something you could've gained overnight. How many lives did you take to accumulate this? And this mist… it doesn't belong to either of your spider spirits!"

Qian Xunji, though trembling against the bookshelf, still tried to maintain his authority, pointing an accusing finger at Bibi Dong.

"Fine. Call me a Dark Spirit Master if you wish. It makes no difference now. You won't escape me tonight."

Bibi Dong's lips curled into a chilling smile as she seized Qian Xunji by the throat and dragged him into the secret passage.

The Hidden Chamber

After descending nearly a hundred steps, they arrived at a dimly lit underground hall. In one corner stood an ornate bed.

"How thoughtful, Teacher. You even prepared a bed down here. How many women have you brought to this place?"

She flung Qian Xunji to the ground, watching as he gasped for air.

"Cough… cough…!"

"Tell me, was this bed meant for me? How… considerate."

Bibi Dong sat on the edge of the bed, her tone mocking.

Qian Xunji's mind raced.

(Damn it! Why can't I summon my spirit power?!)

He tried to activate his Seraphim Spirit, but his body refused to respond.

"Haha… Dong'er, you misunderstand! Release me, and I'll name you Vice Pope of Spirit Hall!"

He forced a smile, his voice dripping with false warmth.

"How generous. But I don't want to be second to anyone. I want to stand above all."

Her laughter was sweet, but her eyes were ice.

"Bibi Dong! Have you no gratitude? I raised you! I saved you from the wild beasts when you were a child! Without me, you'd be dead!"

Desperate, he switched tactics, appealing to her supposed loyalty.

"You dare speak of gratitude?!"

Bibi Dong's composure shattered.

"Do you know who I met during that mission you sent me on years ago? My aunt—the one you drove to become a Dark Spirit Master! I had already forgiven you for murdering my parents, but then you took Lin Yongming from me too!"

"For four years, I endured the hell of Slaughter City, fighting day and night just to survive. And do you know what kept me going? The thought of making you pay!"

Her voice trembled with rage.

Qian Xunji scoffed.

"Hah! So you've learned the truth. But I was right to kill them! Your family were Dark Spirit Masters—filth that needed purging! I spared you out of pity!"

"Once a Dark Spirit Master, always a Dark Spirit Master!"

"SHUT UP!"

Bibi Dong's foot slammed into his stomach, sending him crashing against the wall. She grabbed his throat again, lifting him off the ground.

"If I'm a Dark Spirit Master, then tonight, I'll drink your blood, feast on your flesh, and devour the spirit you're so proud of!"

Her Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor Spirit materialized, its razor-sharp legs poised to strike.

"STOP! If you kill me, you'll never leave Spirit Hall alive! My father will hunt you down!"

Qian Xunji's bravado crumbled into raw terror.

Bibi Dong paused, then smiled.

"Ah, you're right. Killing you now would be… inconvenient."

"Yes! Let me go, and I'll ensure your safe passage out of Spirit City!"

"But where's the fun in that?"

Her grin widened.

"I've decided—death is too kind for you. I'll destroy your family, your legacy, everything you've built over centuries!"

"From tonight onward, you're my puppet. Rakshasa's Brand!"

A purple sigil burned into Qian Xunji's forehead. His eyes glazed over as he dropped to his knees.

"Greetings… Master."

(Perfect. The Rakshasa's power is far more effective than I expected. His mental defenses were weak.)

Bibi Dong sat back on the bed, plotting her next move.

(Killing him now would be reckless. Qian Daoliu would suspect me immediately. And in my current state, even with the Rakshasa's power, I'd stand no chance against him—let alone the six elders of the Elder Hall.)

(No. I'll take my time. Everyone involved in that day will pay—one by one.)

The Puppet's Confession

"Qian Xunji, what were your plans for me after dinner?"

Under the brand's control, he answered obediently:

"Your talent is extraordinary. The Qian family possesses a medicine that ensures conception. A child born from your bloodline would surpass all previous heirs."

"I see… So that's why you welcomed me back so warmly."

Bibi Dong's mind raced.

(Then I'll give you exactly what you wanted—just not with me.)

"Lingyuan… She was so eager to stop Xiao Ming back then. And as a fire-attribute Titled Douluo, her bloodline would make a fine vessel."

A dark laugh escaped her lips.

The Deception

That night, Bibi Dong abducted Lingyuan Douluo and brought her to the chamber.

A year later, Lingyuan gave birth to a baby girl—Qian Renxue.

Under Bibi Dong's manipulation, both Qian Xunji and Lingyuan believed the child was Bibi Dong's.

Another year passed.

News spread across the continent:

"Pope Qian Xunji and Elder Lingyuan Douluo slain by the Clear Sky Clan's Tang Hao!"

The incident ignited a blood feud between Spirit Hall and the Clear Sky Clan.

In truth, Bibi Dong had delivered the final blows herself.

The New Pope

With Qian Xunji dead, a new pope had to be crowned.

Qian Daoliu, perhaps sensing something amiss, withheld the true power of Spirit Hall—the Elder Hall and the Seraphim Legion—from Bibi Dong.

He struck a deal:

"Once Qian Renxue reaches Titled Douluo rank, you will relinquish the papacy to her."

Bibi Dong agreed—for now.

But when Qian Renxue awakened with innate 20th-level spirit power, Bibi Dong saw a threat.

At age eight, Qian Renxue was sent to the Heaven Dou Empire—far from Spirit Hall's influence.
